Does anyone have a throttle cover that they might be persuaded to part with ?

Thanks

Thanks for the heads-up Gaz. I will keep looking for an original - but thanks again.

^^^ originals look the best by a country mile. Try Banzai Breakers. Getting hard to find now in good condition. The Two Turbo ones went NLA a good few years ago now. NA ones are still available new afaik

Thanks guys.

Si - totally agree !

Andrew / Black Zed / phutumsch - bought and paid for ! Thank you for the heads up. I think it being listed under 'engine cover' was what shielded it from my searches !

PS Andrew - as you and I have the same Carbing brace - I'll hold off fitting this cover in the hope I can get a close look at how you modified your cover to allow fitment of the brace at the next meet.

With the cover fixed in place I partially bolted down the strut and then traced two pencil lines on the cover where the

strut crossed. I then made up a wooden support to hold and fix the cover in place (using the four mounting points) in

a mitre saw and then cut across the cover to the required depth. The rest of the cutting was done with a fret saw and

finished off with files.

You can see how tight things are between the cover's red decal and the bottom of the strut in the first photo below.

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

Can't the 2 x mounting points be lifted instead of that ?.

No, not really Andy. As it is the top of the Carbing strut rubs (very slightly) on the bonnet insulation (arrowed). It is very

tight in there.

When you see the strut in place in the engine bay, it is a pretty discreet piece of surgery on the cover.
