I have a set of new swb door seals and would be interested how you get on fitting your new set Gonzo in any problems or straight fit.

Straight fit simple enough. I renewer other trim clips as well since I had them spare. I started sing mirror side as well as it seemed logical and all clipped into place with no issues. Was renewing a few trims clips too since I had the door lock out as well to renew and the window slider.

I got a good deal on one of the door seals from UAE on the Amayama site it was about £20 cheaper when it landed.

Thanks Gonzo I have had mine a good few years now but the original rubber is still good so haven't fitted them yet. If I ever get the Z resprayed then the new rubber will go on.

Hi

Sorry to bother you but I see you have successfully replaced the window slider, if it was the upper one (on the door upright) mine is broken, I have the replacement parts shown in your photo and have managed to remove the plastic trim that shows when the window is down and have removed the broken parts from the channel in the door upright, I have searched for a "How to" to reassemble but can not find one and I can not for the life of me see how you can get all the pieces back together with everything in its correct place

Any clues much appreciated

As a aside the link to your Garage does not appear to be working

Best Regards

Hi I did try to open up this post on the website on my phone however looks like it has all changed and unworkable for me so back on Tapatalk.

I’m guessing the garage feature has problem been messed up as well hence why it is not working.

With your problem it will be much easier with pictures. I know the slider bolts can come in a full kit or part kit so good to see what you have. I assembled it all with the window still in which is a bit fiddly but simple enough. I had to drill one of the bolts out as they should unscrew but this was just tight however on the other side it was ok to do with pliers.

For assembly it’s a case of pit it through the window with the plastic washer then place the round disconnect the back with larger plastic washer and then the bit that goes into the slider mech with an end cap on.

Hi Gonzo

Thank you for the reply, I have all the parts, stud that goes through the window, the plastic washers, the round threaded plate, the the bar with the white plastic ball joint bit on the end and the cap, what i found most difficult was tightening the bar onto the exposed thread sticking out from the inside of the glass, I ended up drilling a small hole in the door carcass just big enough to get a phillips screwdriver through to tighten the bar with the plastic ball joint, just could not get enough purchase with a pair of long nose pliers to tighten it sufficiently.

Thank you for the advice, not a job I would volunteer for but now back together thankfully, I am sure there is a easier way to do it, but only how to's I could find seemed to have had the photo's removed.

Thanks again

Ah good job. If you lower the window though the screw lines up with one of the holes in the door already so you can tighten it up and that’s before it goes into the track however you have done it so all good. It’s such a simple piece but with wear on them could result in leaking windows at the top as it does pull the window in enough at the top of travel.

The fan is working great. Been doing some monitoring with Nistune and engine temp is staying at 79/80 under load so it works and it works well.
