Bit naughty I know but I spent this nice warm lunchtime with a mate trying 0-60 (96) with a stopwatch. Did 5 runs - 4 runs@5.4secs, 1@5.3secs.

 

I just needed to know :D :D . I know is not accurate but it cant be far wrong.

 

What I did notice was that it took a good 1 - 1.5 secs to actually get going, maybe Nelson was right with the mass reduction ;) :p ...

It's the main factor which makes some other cars faster, which are not even as powerful as a 300.

I wanna have a go at embaressing myself at Trax this year on the 0-60 run...should be a laugh.

I'm not sure........sure I've read somewhere that RED paint is alot heavier than normal paint, the lightest being silver thus making silver cars that little bit quicker. :D

I also did a few runs with a friend and a stopwatch but not really to test my 0 - 60. More to test my traction control launch.

 

Before TC I was getting around 5.5, after TC I am getting about 5.1 :D :D.

 

 

BTW, James is right !

This Silver Almost stock seems to be a lot faster than the Red ;) even with my big arse behind the wheel. :D

That is only partially true. Red is only slightly heavier paint and only makes 4-5 grammes difference on the whole car over other colours.

 

Red is more aerodynamic than the other paint colours and thus makes the car faster.

Now I know we've all had a laugh at Nelson in the past. So I thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and I tried a bit of this mass reduction business.

Yeah fair point Turbot, considered that. But then I got to thinking. If I remove the beer I've just bought from Bargain Booze from the boot, that might reduce its mass.
