Nah, spent ages fitting TC to my mates MR2, and it was raining on/off so I didn't think it would be worth it ....

Yes,

But not Santa Pod, North Weald. Just one other 300 there, met some guys from the 200sx forum. Not too much rain, only light, got 4 really bad runs in, very very bad times for my mods!!!

The first two runs my coil ignition clip flew off one of the cylinders causing me to run with 5 cylinders. Which was annoying as I got a 14.1 time missing one cylinder, my other 2 trips I had too much power in 1st and 2nd and got worse times!

One thing I discovered was that my Gforce meter (for 1/4 times) was almost spot on the North Weald 1/4 times. The north weald termination speeds were rubbish half the time, like 10mph-20mph out.

All in all, good fun, saw lots of interesting cars, and never enough runs!

Went with Jez and Darren but didn't have my Z courtesy of a 4" nail in the rear tyre :-(

Most interesting runs I saw was the 700bhp R32 skyline with the biggest turbo (T72?) I have ever seen and a porche 911 turbo.

Both managed early 12's even in drizzly conditions.

Then there were the Suzuki Hyabusu 1300's; one with nitrous which managed early 10's.

Steve

I was there and two other Z's apart from Jez. A black one and silver (i think). Only Jez and I entered. My best time was 14.2 and best terminal speed was 116. Each time I went through the gate I checked my speedo and it was as near as dammit exactly the same as the North Weald timer.

Although the rain was very light, traction was still difficult, making it hard to get a really good time.

The 911 Turbo got some serious traction, it just squatted and went. When it launched the rear bumper almost touched the ground.

I lost one race against a Beatle Drag car that wheelied off the line and wheelied when it changed gear.

He ran a 13.65! not bad for a four pot.

There's another meet in three weeks on the 15th July. I'll be there again if any of you guys want to meet. Hopefully the weather will be dry this time.

Grant

Hi Grant!

Nice you meet you at the track.

I would possibably be interested in entering again, but somewhere else. Santa Pod has so much more traction when compared to North Weald.
