I'm sure if i did a search i could find this out but suspect tyre opinions are ever changing, which do you reckon are the best rear tyres on standard 245 wheels?

Mine are practically bold, eek!!:p

£114 good for them?

Or are you aware of any cheaper prices.

That price was from mytyres.net.

Bridgestone S-03s fitted on rear 225s (J-spec) (your 245s are UK and hence bigger). Delivered, fitted and balanced, home (or office) service from ALS Tyres £190.35 inc VAT for the pair. i.e. £95 each.

Sorry I don't have the price he quoted me for a pair of 245s but if you wanted a price call him on 07714 327488. Bracknell based so either a) he won't travel too far or b) he'll do anything to get out of it! :) From memory, it might have been cheaper than £114.

Cheers - Gio

BF GOODRICH PROFILER! I would never change to anything else.

Best out there IMHO.

£114 is a pretty good price, my last ones, about 4 months back would have been about £129 each I think. Could have got them for less but it would have cost me £40 in fuel !

Mac,

Are they profiler G's?

If so they're only £91 from the same place!

Me too!

I had Michelin Pilot Sports on me Soup, Pirelli P6000's on me Kirk Cossie but the BF's are faultless. IMO.

Just to throw a spanner in the works,I know alot of you think the Bridgestone S-O tyres are very good,They were fitted to my Z when I bought it a few years ago,I found the rear end a little slap happy!

I had S02 on the rear and the only fault I could find was they only lasted 8000 miles

I got some nasty avon things on mine and theyve only lasted about 4 months but thats cos i make em turn 20 times to travel a meter.

Okay I'll throw another spanner in the works:

Good Year Eagle F1 - GS-D3

Best tyre I've ever come across, predictable handling in both wet and dry conditions, although they are pretty aweful in the snow!

Tim

Or Toyo Proxes T1-S ;)

Trouble with tyre design is there is a balance between road noise and grip wet/dry. Another thing is its often difficult to compare the same tyres due to different compounds being available - a number of manufacturers do this. The softer the tyre the more grip but wears out quicker... When ppl say their 'so and so' tyres were really good then someone comes back and says they were cr@p, its probably down to either tracking differences or a compound difference...

Ok ramble over :D

I am a Bridgestone man through and through, I even run Potenzas on my everday motor, but the S03 just aint as good as the S02 (according to my tyre man and he is well knowledgable). And they S02 is now obsolete.

I'm with the Duffman on this one. Toyo Proxes are the way to go.

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

TOYO's are the dogs - excellent grip and seem to last quite long as well.

Just had a look on mytyres.net and was really suprised at some of the prices. The Reifentest bit is quite good too, giving an overall score for the tyres performance. Not had my Z long so don't have much experience with tyre choice but might try the UniRoyal Rainsport as they scored very well (especially in the rain) and are dead cheap.

Toyos are sooo good everyone posts twice about them :D

If those Toyo's are as good as you say i'll probably go for them, only 80 squids each!!

where from rob, my tyre supplier wanted £100 for them - trade!!

Toyo are jap tyres for a jap car ;)

I've had some on the rear of my 200SX and they have hardly worn in a year (> 10,000 miles) and the grip is amazing. At times, I've waited for the rear end to spin out but it never happened !!
