It think my list would be

Blackadder

Bottom

Only fools and horses

Game on

Then possibly Fawlty towers.

Some of my favs already said (Game on, Only Fools and Horses) but to add; Coupling. Massively underrated IMO. Hilarious programme that was

Not sure it fits the truest description of a sit com, but Drop The Dead Donkey always did it for me.

Go watch a uncut Bottom Live episode, they are hysterical.

I agree - I saw Bottom Live at least twice in the early '90s..... I laughed so much I was in pain...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Never seen "Bottom" and "Game on" mate.

Game On was good for the first series (or maybe two); until Neil Stuke took over from Ben Chaplin. It was still funny, but the joke about Matthew's agoraphobia just wasn't the same. IMO of course.... I did have a crush on Sam Janus though...:wink:

This was the mid 70s and it just pure comedy it has to be the best guys

Hilarious - and "The Germans" was definitely the best episode. So un-PC; especially unedited for today's standards (I have the DVD set). I probably do agree it deserves the accolade - but Blackadder II definitely comes very close:cool:

Only Fools was an enduring classic; so much so, it became an institution. I had forgotten about Coupling - loved that too - and if we allow the Americans in, then Frasier is up there as well.

I still agree with Gaz, that Faulty Towers pips them all to the post; just. It was from a world that no longer exists and is all the better for it.... IMO of course:biggrin:

I'd have to say Only Fools & Horses for me, it ran for so long & was always so funny. Also, bottom & the young ones as I love rik mayall, & Seinfeld.
