Is your car turbo or non turbo?

  • Author

Its a non turbo but it had a gearbox conversion and the gearbox and clutch are turbo, the master cylinder came with the gearbox which I bought from an enthusiast

ive been looking at them on ebay and other sites and Im finding it tricky to nail it down which one it is

If it's a TT MC, only available from Japan:

Be interesting to know how they bolted up a twin turbo master cyliner with no booster in place ???

Just undo the two fixing nuts on the cylinder. . As Jeff says it appears you have an NA setup without a booster on the pedal inside the car.

If the cylinder still stays in place then that will prove to you that it is still attached to the pedal as per NA picture.

Alternatively look up at the top of the pedal under the dash. Can you see a black booster?? If not then once again its an NA clyinder.

The clutch pedal is actually out the car at the moment because it was all removed to have the new heater matrix fitted

ill have to pop down the garage on Monday and check about the black booster

if its turns out that its a non turbo master cylinder I require then where can I get one as quickly as possible from the uk preferably ?

anyone on here have spare second hand bits or breakers etc?

thanks for the replys

If it's a NA MS then this looks to be the same:

Yep already seen that, 1-3 weeks from Japan, would prefer get something quicker, my cars in bits down local garage there gonna be getting sick of pushing it in and out there workshop

I have emailed Luke Z Centre regarding the matter but obviously if anyone knows how I can get one quicker/from UK please contact me

Leaking from the bottom seal apparently

If you can use one of the replacements shown above, you will find it very useful to transfer the offset filler over (arrowed).

Assuming it will fit the new CMC it will give you much more space to get the cap off when filling. Things are tight in that area.

Also, I'm not clear what the "bottom seal" means. Is fluid leaking from the union (arrowed) with the flex pipe and the CMC

or leaking from the back of the CMC, seen from inside the car?

Thanks for the links Jeff, they do look very similar, im just awaiting a response from Luke Z Centre on his opinion also and what he recommends before I rush in and order something (ive also emailed him those links for his opinion also)

Andrew, thanks for the tips, yes I agree its difficult to fill even with that cap, the straight ones would be even worse. I don't know exactly where its leaking from they didn't give me any more information other than bottom seal!

Luke advised me the ebay ones would not fit due to the bolt holes being the opposite way round

so anyway I went for his genuine part and he got it to me a lot quicker than I thought and car is all fixed and back on the road now , see pic below of new one in situ

Great to see that you are now sorted and that Luke was able to get the OEM part to you in good time.

Yeh was expensive but will obviously wont break in 5 mins so worth it
