Boys and girls.

After getting down do do a couple of over due jobs on the motor today, I thought I'd check the ECU and see if all way ok.

Apparently not. I am getting error code 33 and 53.

According to the diags it could be:

Harness and connector - where r they?

fuel pressure

injectors

intake leaks.

I have done a little search on the forum but not really found anything on this. Vijay had error 33 a while back but there was no follow up on teh thread. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you overcome it?

I do not have any hard pipes. The only non stock item under the bonnet is a HKS mushroom filter.

Cheers

Cos

Hello Cos,

If I remember rightly mine ended up being a loose intake pipe. I put Smithy's hard pipes on and a clip needed tightening.

Good luck,

Vijay

33 is lambda 02 sensor, one away from Det sensor which is 34 lucky boy ;)

Dont think there is a 53 mate..

The tech articles say that 33 is for the O2 sensor on one side and 53 is for the O2 sensor on the other side.

Thanks for that Vijay, I will have to take a screw driver to it tomorrow now.

Error codes only show if the reading from the relevant sensor is outside the parameters in the ECU. Best way to check the O2 sensors is to put the ECU into daig mode II for O2 switching tests. This will tell you if your O2 sensors are responding as they should be. If not, check they are both connected. One connector is on the top of the intake plenum at the back, the other is on the drivers side of the plenum - look out for a lead with white heat protective wrap on it - thats the O2 ;)

HTH

Thanks Andy - I'll try and give it a shot tonight.

Ooops - BLACK protection NOT white ;) The white is the V V T solenoids.....

Andy
