Hi all

I found out that the check balls and spring lengths in the interlock stoppers differ from year to year.

Is there a way to check what year my gearbox came out of like id numbers or tell tale signs

Thanks

They shouldn't be different year-to-year. Only gearbox differences were 98+ (syncros) and European gearboxes which had holes drilled for cooler pipework. Where did you find this information?

I went looking for a replacement check ball and spring and they had 3 different types 89-92 92-96 and 96 onwards.read on amother forum that they were specific too.

Not aware of any interim changes either. The box is a FS5R30A which was also used for R32/R33 Skylines with RB25/RB26 engines - if you're looking for second hand parts, they're a lot more common here.

The bell housings for those would be different so the ball and spring would be different too.where would i find these bits does anyone know.nissan are useless without a reg number

Well according to this post on TT.net the spring and ball components do vary:

"There are different size ball bearings for different years of transmission."
