Hi guys.

So what’s really letting the exterior of my car down now (apart from the colour I hear some of you say) is the various trim and rubbers around the glass. I’ve been able to find most of them but need a hand finding others. There seems to be a lot of difference between prices from supplier to supplier so I’d like to see option rather than got straight to Nissan.

I’ll also use this post to ask for help fitting the pieces as they arrive.

The first piece I’m struggling to find is the rear quarter glass upper edge trim. Do you know where I can order it from?

Cheers,

Chris

Ok mate. Go easy taking the glass out and I’ll take a look at them when I collect the other gear. Cheers Luke.

I've been told there is a Jacinto it so will get advice prior to doing so

The rubber on the rear quarter glass is moulded to the glass and comes new with the glass, the glass can be a nightmare to get out in one piece or scratching paint work, and if bought new are like £250 each !!!

So a tip here is not to remove the glass, where the bottom strip meets the rubber at the apex with a sharp blade you can cut it and remove the bottom strip on its own.

Now the door strips are exactly the same profile but too long, so buy spare door one`s and cut them to match the rear one`s length, refit it and seal them with black rubber silicon, done carefully it will go completely unnoticed.

Note, you need a left door strip for the right rear window and a right door strip for left rear window, this is so the stop end`s are the right way around.

Yes, that’s the bit I mean. I’ll see if I can find a strip with the same profile that can be bounded on if needs be.

Thanks Joely.

I keep wondering how well the likes of plastidip would work on the lower pieces. I might give is a go as they are one of the things that let mine down

I’ve not heard of this before. Is it a DIY product or send away?

It's a DIY spray on thing. I used it on the trims that go up the windscreen and over the targas before, and also recently did the wiper arms of my blue car

Example of it recently. Thing is, it wouldn't leave a smooth finish so probably not the best thing to use. But might look a little better from a distance but I haven't done mine as I'm not convinced it'll look great
