I’m hoping someone might be able to explain why you would both have the same profile on both the front and rear tyres? I was just about to order a set of four new tyres when I noticed that the fronts are currently 235/40/18 when the rears are 265/35/18.

Cheers, Chris.

Because the profile number is a percentage, to retain the diameter wit a wider wheel obviously 35% of 235 is not the same as 35% of 265.

To keep the rolling diameter of each wheel/tyre as close as possible to each other despite the increase in width at the rear.
