I went to start my 300 20 mins ago and guess what...it kicked then just turns over and wont f****** start. I am thorougly pissed off with the car now.

I have had an intermittant mis from the engine.....sometimes its smooth as a dye other times very lumpy with a definate miss.

I have only done 50 miles in the last few weeks in the car and there is just below quarter tank of fuel in it......any ideas guys....i was gonna get ma timing belt/cam seals done today but not thats out the window.....

Any help much appreciated Cheers John Crisp

woohooo spark plugs back in and she started 1st crack....i think this has been self inflicted as i havent been using the car because of an oil leak but i have been taking the car out the garage then just putting in back in and not running it for long.

It does have the slight lumpy mis at tickover now but it is running and i am gonna take it to my work to fix the oil leak now and do the timing belt.....i HATE cars i work with commercials and coaches ..cars to me are a nightmare lol..anyways all the best everyone and thanks for the replies.

Cheers again...john crisp

ps ANDY my car has 70 k miles on it...am i right in saying the ptu's last for around about this milage

Difficult to say how long they last tbh John. Some last for ever, some fail after 30k - there's no way of knowing. Sounds to me like the problem WILL be back - there must be a bad electrical connection or something - quite likely on the PTU connectors. You will have disturbed it while playing with the coilpack leads ;) Hope it doesn't come back but next time go straight to the PTU ;)
