I saw this picture on instagram. How well does a zed run without a ballance bar? I've never really thought about it, I've always thought nissan knew best.

No worryZ run's a similar plenum. TBH for all the effort in welding up the holes, grinding down the rest - where's the real benefit? It's not even like it makes that much of a visual difference.

Seems to run rather nicely with some gtx2863's hidden away in that lovely bay. Not a fan of the outside but each to their own.

Don't worry Joely, I wasn't planning on doing it. You'd have such difficulty with vac lines and losing IACV too.

 

It was more of a technical thought experiment.

 

So the balance bar would defend against slightly mismatched turbos? I wonder how much harm would come from removing it, and setting up a 2 psi mis match or something. Would it physically damage the engine due to the asymmetry

If it's anything like this well known plenum modified example then the balance bar has been replaced by a hose (arrowed)

and fittings running underneath the plenum from bank to bank.
