Jeff

HPi check Gaz. Can forward info if neede?

Wow very bad of the seller not to mention it in the listing

Something very fishy about this one overall.... You cant ask the seller a question !

Still more bids going on it.

A lot of people don't know anything about these cars !

I got a reply after 3 days. Not to my follow up questions as yet

True but if your biding on one then you expect them to do some research. A UK with some rust and cat c is in my head is worth up to 2k. Spend 10k on it to make it mint and you have an investment and a joy to drive.

Not many people would take the trouble to HPI it so they wouldnt find out it was a CAT C

I've just sent this

'It is showing as a 31/12/2001 as cat C insurance claim

What happened ?'

Well doesn't it state it on the V5. In which case whoever gets it will be in for a surprise

Well the prices sure are going up, because that is a pretty penny for a breaker.

I Got a reply !

'Hi, I bought the car in 2004 from my brother who owned it from nearly new.

He says it was never in an accident and certainly was not in an accident whilst I have owned it so maybe its due to the number being changed by me to my Thai wifes nickname Meay and the G being my initial.

The previous reg. number was TNG 759

The original reg. was M859 XTC

Either there is a mistake here or I have been lied to.

Please let me know.

Regards,

Gareth.'

Sorry mate I’ve no idea. Only checked as I’m after a white UK myself but once I found out I thought best to share the info with you as others might be interested in it.

Did the HPI check you ran show the car's VIN?

Hi Andrew

Still at work now but can type out all the info when I get a moment if you like?

Hi all, I would be very keen to have the vin number as I should be collecting it on Monday, I also have a photo of the v5 document so would be good to know before I make the 79 mile journey.

Just joined the forum tonight and saw this.

I.understand these are money pits but I negotiated a good price after he emailed to say he was removing it from eBay due to finding out it was a cat C.

If it all appears straight when I go to get it then it will be a long term slow restoration project.

Look forward to speaking with you all in future

Welcome to the club Deegan. Who cares if it’s a Cat C as long as it’s straight, you’ll have a lovely car to enjoy for years to come. Good job for saving a Z from the scrapyard and I look forward to seeing the project progress.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

If it all turns out to be straight and with just 67000 miles and manual it will keep me happy for a long time.

I'm going with a friend on Monday to load it and bring it back to my mechanic.

I had been looking at examples in better shape but they keep selling just before I go to inspect, seems these are being snapped up just lately
