Hello, I'm new in this place, glad to join you all, I want to buy an 300ZX, but i don't know where to start..

Reliability is it good or bad? i know it's an old car, and i must expect things going wrong..

I'm concerned about the miles too, when it's too much miles, for buying this car in your opinion ?

What i must look at, first?

Sorry for these dumb questions, I'm really desperate lol.

In my very small experience, miles are not a bad thing. The bad thing is rust. You need to check all along the sills on both side, front and back. Check the arches, especially the rear arches as Nissan didnt install liners. Check the boot floor for moisture and rust and if you can check the floor pan. Cars can rust in other places, but those are the main areas.

Check the engine runs ok, no smoke, no funny noises, etc. Find out when the last timing belt change was done.

One of my cars in on 209K now (a mixture of miles and KMs) but as long as you look after them they are ok. I have two cars an NA and a TT and ive only had one breakdown that was a £60 fix. *touch wood*

Good luck and welcome to the forum, if you need any help just ask!

P.S we need pictures

1990 Black MT NA LWB = 2014 - 2020 (Sold)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2015 - 2017 (Stripped & Scrapped)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2017 - 2021 (Sold)

1991 Black MT TT LWB = 2018 - 2021 (Sold)

1989 Red AT TT LWB = 2021 - XXXX (Kept)

Do you want a long or short wheelbase, Targa tos or tin top, twin tubo or noramally aspiarted..... Decisions decisions decisions .....

They're very reliable cars, if cared for well. At this point, it can be challenging to find one that has always been.

Ok already mentioned but rust and corrosion is the MAJOR killer now to these cars, although repairs can be of course done its all about how serious the rust is and what the prospect of keeping the repair cost in an affordable budget that befits the rest of the car and the purchase cost.

Many more mechanical things to look out for and sure you will get advise about that, but No1 is rust now, take a look at the rust levels and the amount of repair fabrication, welding and painting that goes into it, and these pictures are far from the worse we have dealt with, one other thing is, these photo`s are 9 years old !!! image that even if repaired then even to a good standard the chances are its back !!

Just be careful and inspect all you can, have fun and keep it real financially and you will enjoy it.
