Very proud new owner SWB SLICKTOP MANUAL pearl comming from Japan!

Posted

Like to say a very big thanks to club Importer Garry/GazWoz who made this happen!

She was manufactured in October 96 with 43k on the clock one owner from new!

I'm over the moon with excitement first time ever getting one from an auction in Japan.

The only thing now I have to wait 8 weeks at least for it to land in the UK, then Gary is getting the roof and bonnet resprayed in white to match the rest of the car and getting everything else ready as well with the registration etc for me to pick up.

I'm just looking at ordering a new OEM steering wheel gear knob and a few other interior bits to make it look like brand new. I've got some brand new confetti Recaro seats already that I did not put into my Supra as I sold that last week.

I've all way's wanted a Fairlady Z fresh from JP my plan now with the Z is to make it look like it just rolled out from the assembly line and look after her.

I'll probably drop a twin-turbo lump in her later on in the future 550ps anyone?

This is a great club to be a part of definitely my favourite lots of good advice and friendly enthusiasts.

Picking up some Championship edition 2007 BBS LM in Diamond black 10j 18 came in from Japan Sexual legendary wheels picking them up on Friday 8 hours round trip but worth it for my street wheel's.

In 2007- BBS ran a small production run of Limited Edition, championship edition wheels that are black chrome/ diamond black and were called BBS DKB's. These are very rare and are by far the best colour

Just need to order some Tein Street Flex Coilovers I'll run a slight stretch with probably 255 35 or 40 maybe with a slight camber adjustment as well lowered slightly bit of an aggressive look but nothing too radical. I'll play around with the set-up properly make my mind up how I want it. I'll be keeping my 16s for Santa Pod ect. Just need to get round to ordering my OEM 99 bumper drop my new Recaros in, and the rear lights with centrepiece and the strip with the brake light also get the steering wheel handbrake gear leather and red stitching squared. That probably be next month now as these wheels cost an absolute fortune probably more than most people's runarounds lol!

she's a special Z so deserves the best:rockon:

Niiiice!!!! :punk: I love a good set of JDM wheels :thumbup:

Nice work. BBS LM are my favourite wheels. I would say that as I have them on my Z albeit in 19" flavour. :)

I also imported my wheels from Japan, they were very hard to find in the spec I wanted as BBS don't actually make the 9" and 10" widths in our bolt pattern anymore.

You've gone for a square setup by the looks of it. 10" at the front is going to be a tight squeeze, they should fit but you might need to roll the top of the arch depending on what offset they are.

Just a small update really setting off tomorrow on my mega journey up north it's an 8 hour round trip guy was adamant he wouldn't post it and thinking about it I don't think it's worth taking the risk just in case of damage very rare 10j 18 Le Mans championship wheels so I don't want to risk it either.

I was browsing a couple of nights ago on interior shots of the z32 something caught my eye so I've ordered one from Japan lol think it will look awesome and set the interior off very aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

I've also been looking at the facelift headlights I personally like them but I'm not 100% sure on it was going to order some from America as they have a very good discounted price on them at the moment still mega expensive or do I just stick with the ones that Lamborghini used from us lol

Can you guys help me out and suggest which one you think looks best especially suits my Z 100% getting the 99 bumper so bear that in mind. Cheers guys!

I personally prefer the look of the early headlights. They're a little more aggressive looking.

You've got to be the only person that thinks that. I'd say the opposite!

And for what it's worth - looks are subjective, but the xenons are really amazing. From what I've heard, the halogen lights are a bit shit.

I prefer the early too. Suits the body better. Black is a better contrast than shiney gold ones.

Actually quite a few people do.

Indeed, personally I think the 99 headlights look a bit tacky. If they were black inserts...maybe different. So over priced as well. But yes the stock halogen lamps are crap, I find a lot of far eastern brand cars have naff headlights and wimpy horns.

Hi nice looking zed coming to you.

My z is white pearl but your z looks whiter?

My colour code is HK6 G.

Are there two pearl whites?

Yes, QN0 was a much brighter crisper pearl white introduced in late 94/early 95.

Thanks for the replies seems like 50/50 we should get a poll to vote on it lol... if anyone does have a spare set that they haven't bothered or got round to fit in yet send me a pm cash is ready!

I'm not sure on the paint code all I know is it just recently got resprayed Si is that what paint code you think my one is now I'll pass that on to Gary to get the roof and bonnet done the same I hate black bonnets lol.

I’d seen the 99 specs reduced and had been thinking of pulling the trigger on a set, but I’d rather spend the money on an engine rebuild :whistling:

Yeah I was close to checking out with it in my basket lol but I thought that money can go towards more important things for the Z lol especially if you thinking about doing engine overhaul something.

Regarding the headlights its really not about what they look like its about how they perform and the 99 spec are literally night and day compared to the old ones. Yes theres the hid arguement but speaking from experience as my version r has them and my 92 tt does not, the 99 spec are waaaay better.

The Zed hasn't even landed yet but the parts continue to grow lol the plan is to get everything done at the same time in one hit and enjoy over the summer before she goes to sleep in the winter. Then the engine transplant will take place with something that hasn't been done in the UK yet? Lol

Anyway I should hopefully have everything delivered this month from the States. And the other half from the UK. He's just a few bits and bobs.

tein edfc active and Tein Street Flex Coilovers just ordered this is going to be a weapon on the streets and track.

Just make sure you finish it, and when you do don't plant it into a wall on the first outing because I want to see it. Someone's build last year did just that O.O

I'm getting on it pretty much as soon as it lands getting everything fitting set up. I come from a lot of high powered wheel drive cars haven't managed to crash any of them yet lol I think I'll be ok. I definitely want to get it to some club meetings.

Just took a major kick in the *****cks!

That's how I feel at the moment after seeing my Z in person down at Bognor Regis.... pretty gutted the paint job looks like it's been painted with a Brillo pad ffs plus the roof plastic trim has been painted over with looks like nail varnish numbnuts in Japan has even painted over the rubber over the rear Hatch absolute pleb Mickey Mouse job, rear bumper has runs in it as well, door weather strips look bad I'm not showing it now until I've got all this sorted out more bloody money lol oh well there's me thinking I could do everything in one hit obviously not. Been a bit stressful as well I need is to get a few bits for it to pass its MOT so had to run backwards and forwards before I started night duty so I was pretty *****cksed as well doing a 5 hour round trip dropping bits off at the garage. Probably be another couple of weeks till I can actually drive it away, so yeah this is turning to a project like all z32 lol

On the plus note the guy at the garage has confirmed it is a genuine really low mileage Z with 43000 miles and it he said it's the cleanest one he's ever seen underneath!

So at least I've got that to work with Plus I'll be the first owner of this 2018 import.

I'm just waiting on czp with my order at the moment still waiting on the championship personal will from Japan.

so that's pretty much every single piece of interior and other bits about $7000, Just need to get the paint and all trim bits sorted out first, but there's no point in painting the whole thing until I get the 99 bumper fitted.
