I've always wanted one so I brought it yesterday it needs some tlc. I went for the NA version in the hope that I would not have to be under the hood as often lol.

Look forward to ownership if you know this car can you give me a heads up on history

Thank

All common problems.

The vinyl shrinks due to heat so you will see this on 90% of zeds. You can buy new targa handle covers, or get them both trimmed.

Clock commonly doesn't work. sometimes you can solder them to fix, sometimes you'll need to retrofit a custom clock in the housing.

The buzzing is the temperature fan which bearings have gone. You can take this fan out but it is advisable to keep the temperature sensor and just cut off the fan.

Someone will have targa bags you can buy though they aren't too common.

Try spraying some oil on the wee fan moving parts 90% of the time this cures it.

yep it does...its not worn bearings as stated but bone dry and dirty as the fan draws the muck out the cabin air right up to it

Well it's pretty obselete anyway. But if you can fix it that would be best.

Cabin temperature sensor - along with applying a light grade oil, you can also adjust the set screw - correct tension is

necessary for the fan to work without squealing.

Welcome on board dude. It’s a buy you won’t regret. They have their niggles but they are a true driving car in my opinion

Looks good in the photos I was looking on that when it was up for sale the guy did mention about the power steering might be leaking slightly in the ad. Hopefully the underneath of it's not too corroded looks really looks lovely in grey. Keep us updated with the progress.

104 pounds!! Bloody hell, local hydraulics shop have done the same thing a few times for me on my older and rarer cars, usually 20-30 quid job per hose. Still at least it's peace of mind :-)

Not a bad price, I bought a new one a year ago for £100.

He reused the ends and took restrictions out of old pipe in to new.. So I kinda guess its about right...

Yeah same deal pal, some older cars it's hard or impossible to get the parts so providing the ends are in good shape it's the cheapest way around it - need to get to some agricultural hydraulic shops or specialist machine shops and they'll cut you a better price if you shop around :)
