I don't use my 300 very much in the winter months but the last 3 times I have been out for a spin the hicas light stays on for a minute or 2 then goes out ,I have checked all fluids put all looks as it always does.

Anyone have any ideas or is it nothing to worry about?

I hope so I just spent a grand half on my bmw and that's the 300 timming belt and oil change on hold for a few more months

Hi , mine did the same so all I did was add some PAS fluid.

Light goes out within a few seconds now.

Cheers Art I will add a tea spoon and see what happens

You might be surprised how much it can take to “top up” the fluid. My Hicas light was on when I first started my car and it took more than I expected to top it up, certainly more than a teaspoon.

What I did notice though was that when I, took the lid of the reservoir off, moved the float up and replaced the lid the light went off when I started the car (it had tricked it into thinking it was full for a moment until the float shook back down). You could try this before adding a teaspoon of fluid.
