We will be at Coventry Transport Museum again for the Annual Meet and the AGM.

We all know that it is a great venue, due to its central(ish) location, plenty of space and very family friendly for those not wishing to stand around talking about cars all day.

Club Annual Meet & AGM 2018

The Date : Sunday 15th July 2018

The Venue: Coventry Transport Museum

http://www.transport-museum.com/

Club Social get together and pre-meet Meal

The Date : Saturday 14th July 2018

The Venue: Brewers Fayre, Marina, Hinckley

https://www.brewersfayre.co.uk/pub-r...-Hinckley.html

I will try and book the use of the mezzanine floor for the evening meal as a group once I know how many people are staying.

Everyone that met here the last 2 years for the meal get together enjoyed the experience with good food and banter, i think...

We will need to provide advance food orders to the restaurant the week before if we book the mezzanine.

Club nominated hotel for travellers, just 30 minutes from Coventry in the morning, and right next door to the evening meal!

Premier Inn, Hinckley

http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hote.../hinckley.html

This is a good priced and good quality hotel, easy to get to and park, and a nice location along with the onsite restaurant.

There are other hotels within the area if you want to compare or stay elsewhere, e.g. Longshoot Inn, Nuneaton

UPDATE 6-Apr-18:

On SATURDAY 14th, those staying the night turn generally turn up early during the day.

I plan to visit the F1 Collection at Donington on Saturday afternoon, arrive there about 12. This is about 40-45 minute drive from Hinckley.

I will go to Hinckley first, then we can convoy up from there if you are interested.

Anyone travelling down from the North would be easier to meet us at Donington, and then travel back to Hinckley in convoy in the evening.

Shame I couldn’t be there for the full day but did manage to chat to a few members while I was there it looked like a good day and good setting.

For those that don’t know me mine was the black shorty late arrival on the end.

Great pics Andrew :thumbup1: Sorry I couldn't make it this year, I did very much miss our yearly meet.

And you were missed too..

Some great shots taken Andrew[emoji108]

Assorted pictures from yesterday. Lovely to see all the cars and catch up with folks on a blisteringly hot day.

Many thanks for the award - very much appreciated!

Any feedback from the AGM for those that didn’t make it?

There wernt many at the AGM which was held outside but we did agree we wouldn't allow any obsessive polishers to enter next year:lol::lol::lol:

Hi everyone. It’s looking like I may have to drop out from tomorrow. Been really struggling with my long term illness recently and the upshot is that I don’t think I’ll be well enough to come and if I am well enough then I’ll have to use the time to get other stuff done which I didn’t get done today because I feel like garbage. Sorry all, was looking forward to it. If things change I’ll let you know.

Sorry to hear that mate...

….And Gary is dead right. Hope you feel better soon mate; and there'll always be other events to attend...:clover:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Great pics Andrew - and thanks for sharing!!

Good to see you again too mate; and may I say, the awards you won were well deserved. Yours is one of my favourite cars in the club for sure..

Gutted I missed this, it looks like there was a great line up of cars in attendance and superb weather to match! Any feedback from the AGM for those that didn’t make it?

You were missed Joel - as for AGM feedback, the minutes will be posted shortly.....

…….And regarding the NEC show, we didn't decide on any entrants at the show - so we will just do as we did last year. Nominate yourself in the relevant thread; and we'll be putting it to the members' vote once again:wink:

Sorry I missed you Martin - still, there'll be other events no doubt. Glad you could make it though; you were there, it doesn't matter for how long, but thanks for coming along!

The AGM was again a great day…. in blistering sunshine… with a fantastic selection of cars on show.

Many thanks to the committee for their efforts in staging this event (and others)...As someone who organises group activities I appreciate the amount of coordination and effort that these sort of events demand.

There are few 300ZX events throughout the year where prizes are awarded (well done Steve et al for this years) to attending members and their cars based on votes cast throughout the day….I think the variety of awards is great and offers members with all genres and styles of 300ZX to participate and have their ‘pride and joy’ appreciated by the attending knowledgeable 300ZX community.

After going to all the effort to produce the prizes and organise the voting perhaps we could ‘promote’ this side of the day a little more… to the rest of the club membership who were not able to attend the event itself?

On Sunday we had awards presented for: (Apologies if I have forgotten any!)

• Best SWB

• Best LWB

• Best OEM/OEM+

• Best Interior

• Best Engine Bay

• Best Audio Installation

• Best Modified

• Best Motorsport

• Most Desirable Car

• Best in Show

I would like to make a suggestion.

After the event…an awards post within the event’s thread…listing the categories and the winners.

An 'official photographer’ could take a picture of the member receiving their prize from the committee….along with a picture of the winning car/interior/engine bay.

I think this would be of interest to the entire club membership.

It would provide information on the awards….the winning members (enabling us all to actually put a face and ‘real’ name to a forum name)….and to celebrate the many varied representations of the 300ZX marque …spot lighting the cars that attracted the most votes in a specific category….and perhaps encouraging some who may not think that their car was up to the same standard as others in the club (or too modified) …to attend and take part?

This is all in my humble opinion….of course!
