We will be at Coventry Transport Museum again for the Annual Meet and the AGM.

We all know that it is a great venue, due to its central(ish) location, plenty of space and very family friendly for those not wishing to stand around talking about cars all day.

Club Annual Meet & AGM 2018

The Date : Sunday 15th July 2018

The Venue: Coventry Transport Museum

http://www.transport-museum.com/

Club Social get together and pre-meet Meal

The Date : Saturday 14th July 2018

The Venue: Brewers Fayre, Marina, Hinckley

https://www.brewersfayre.co.uk/pub-r...-Hinckley.html

I will try and book the use of the mezzanine floor for the evening meal as a group once I know how many people are staying.

Everyone that met here the last 2 years for the meal get together enjoyed the experience with good food and banter, i think...

We will need to provide advance food orders to the restaurant the week before if we book the mezzanine.

Club nominated hotel for travellers, just 30 minutes from Coventry in the morning, and right next door to the evening meal!

Premier Inn, Hinckley

http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hote.../hinckley.html

This is a good priced and good quality hotel, easy to get to and park, and a nice location along with the onsite restaurant.

There are other hotels within the area if you want to compare or stay elsewhere, e.g. Longshoot Inn, Nuneaton

UPDATE 6-Apr-18:

On SATURDAY 14th, those staying the night turn generally turn up early during the day.

I plan to visit the F1 Collection at Donington on Saturday afternoon, arrive there about 12. This is about 40-45 minute drive from Hinckley.

I will go to Hinckley first, then we can convoy up from there if you are interested.

Anyone travelling down from the North would be easier to meet us at Donington, and then travel back to Hinckley in convoy in the evening.

Good points Gary and we need more people involved to give shows like this a more professional boost. Next year will be our 30th anniversary show and agm which can be in Coventry again our somewhere different. We would need somewhere were everyone is happy to travel to and low costs. Coventry is good as we can use the Millennium Place and the Museum for free and just need to pay for the use of one of the rooms and the food of course. We need to start a thread for the 30th anniversary shows soon and get a working group of dedicated members to put their heads together and come up with ideas for our one big show of strength plus other regional shows.

Our event next year or events!

I think the main event needs to be central for maximum attendance? Just my opinion!

Coventry/Bedford/Northampton area?

We could have two other events one north & one south as mini events for Zeds that can't make the main event.

Or a route stopping at various locations around UK like a tour de Zeds ? Over the month.

Apologies if these sound ridiculous ideas, just a start point for the next year!

This plan is kind of already in action! The AGM has been nicely located for the last few years in Coventry, the Southerners get a nice meet at Beaulieu, the Northerners are a bit more active in a more wide spread series of events so tend to dot around the shows and also seem to be more active for local meets/shows. As for a road trip stopping at various locations in a tour de Z, that was the idea of the Lake District weekend at the Fat Lamb and will hopefully be repeated next year. [emoji41]

Brilliant ideas there Gary and as I didn’t manage to make this event, a post with all this info would make a great read. It would probably also drum up interest for the following year too. It just takes a willing volunteer to take on the roles of photographer and putting the words together!

Seconded...…

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I think you need to check your playback settings Ian!

No its ok, he uploaded the daylight version now. Nothing wrong here :)
