Im currently preparing my engine bay for my RB with some paint and relocating a few things such as the fuel filter and the fuse box. Has anyone relocated these and if so how did you do it? Also if you could point me out to another thread or website with info on it that'd be great. Most of the posts on this are old and the pictures are not viewable anymore.

I would tell you to keep the VG, it can produce all the power you need and they are plenty strong (arguably stronger than the rb). But I'm sure you've made up your mind.

 

So you will need a rb25 transmission with VG bellhousing, radiator relocate, custom motor mounts etc. I cant remember the ins and outs.

This might help:

 

Remember the rb fuel is on the right and the factory fuel is on the left so you will need to cross the pipe over and put a filter inbetween somwhere before the fuel rail.

 

And yeah it will be very expensive. You could probably build a 7-800hp VG for the same price.

BTW I assumed you were talking about RB26 since you didn't specify. Don't even bother with a rb25

Sorry i wasn't clear about my project, I already have everything i need to put the motor in, even the Rb25det with the RB/VG trans hybrid ready to be bolted on. I could put it in now if i wanted but i thought this would be the perfect opportunity to paint the engine bay and do all my relocation and wire tuck most wires. Do you know if i can unbolt the fuel hardlines from the Drivers side (for us that is in the US) to the other side?

 

Also, i've owned a z32 TT before and it was a great car, i just always loved the Rb and i cant own another Japanese car other than the z32 for obvious reasons lol.
