Old timer returning to the forum to see what's happening!

I used to have a mint UK z32 in the mid 2000s, got written off over 10 years ago and lately have considered getting back into one. Since then I've had a quite a few different cars including 8 series 840ci sport individual, Porsche 911 993 C4 Varioram Cab Manual (still have it, keeper), SLK, Infiniti QX70, S classes, etc, but feel to add to the stable... could go down the z32 route or r32/33 gtr route

How much do late (i.e., 1999 spec) TT Manuals usually go for landed from japan? personally i'm a big fan of OEM styling and would want something mint, not butchered, modded too much etc.

My old zed was a UK twin turbo, 1992, FNSH and 1 (famous) owner when I bought it, always garaged. I updated the looks to OEM 1999 spec (z centre used my spoiler to make their mould for their replica spoilers back in the day!), KYB AGX shocks, eibach springs, whiteline ARBs, 350Z rays rims, r33 gtr brembos, ferrodo brakepads, DBA discs, a combination of Nismo and Polybushes, and probably some other stuff I cant remember.

Also are parts still readily available and are there any Z specialists still about London? Also, if there are any old members who remember me or my car, holla! (Vijay I recall seeing you a few times, helping me do various jobs on the car!)

my old zed...

Hi mate, best to have a chat to Gazwoz about importing, but I think the 99 TT manual imports are above £10k now.

A lot of parts are still available (many from america or Japan) but a few of the trims are slowly dissapearing.

No Z specialists about London. Not really much choice to choose from nowadays...

thanks for the reply mate, 10k not a problem as long as it's a proper mint car

true that is a nice car! don't like white though...

White is the best colour in my eyes. If you like blue, purple or/and gold buy mine and I'll buy the white one. (I wouldn't as I like the manual)

With regards to the late low mileage fresh imports, I was talking to Gaz late last year, as I'd like a low mileage, 99spec, white manual, and he was saying back then that you'd be very lucky to find one under £10k.

Good luck with your search and welcome back.

Chris.

(P.S. Who was the "famous" owner?

Hi and welcome back mate....!

I certainly remember your red Zed - although I don't remember it getting written off... That was a sad loss indeed.

Good luck in your search for another though!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks for the wishes!

White is an issue as is Auto too... but yeah I agree generally that one must buy on condition. In terms of budget - 10k isn't the ceiling; in a nutshell I'm looking for something special that I'll hold on to for some time, whether that's an R1 engine GTR of some kind, an NSX, or 300ZX, of all the 90's Japanese exotica however I'd expect the 300zx to be the cheapest (i.e., compared to an R33 GTR R1, NSX etc).

Famous owner was Jim Marshall - founder of the valve tube amp. RIP
