Air filters

I was looking at replacing my filters and have the standard boxes.

 

With the view of doing some mild tuning in the future 350-400bhp, are the standard boxes with K&N filters fitted good for this or should I look at going down the cone route?

    You would be better off going with a pod filter. Either the Apexi/Z1pop charger kit, or you can get a MAF adapter (impreza ones are the same) and a generic pod filter. The stock intake is quite restrictive, taking the air from the wheel arches.

    Don't buy K&N, the oil ****s with the MAF. Having said that, I have a pair if you'd like to buy them :whistling:

    Haha fair enough.... I'm sure I read that someone recommended them as a direct fit and an improvement.

     

    I have always gone with Cone filters on other cars in the past, but as I'm not after massive power gain I was hoping the standard boxes with improved filters would suffice.
