Zs are fast........Not in the snow!!!!

Drove to work today in the snow...

i was the slowest car on the road. I had no choice to drive at a little over tickover, anymore and then the car would go sideways.

and the brakes? totally useless. I nearly crashed it twice.

scarry shit...

Of course it did have its good moments, sliding the back round 90 degress junctions at 1000rmp...

I feel sorry for all those with twin turbos, mine is a N/A and its scary .......

I think today is the first time i have arrived at work awake for a longtime.

be safe

Mick.

Mine was spinning just in "drive" with no acceleration! having that HOLD switch on helps a bit and I've got 285 rears!

285 tyres make matter far far worse. You need skinny tyres to cut through the snow.

seems like a set of snow chains would be i ordeer here!:D

I lost the back of mine to black Ice last night.

I was doing about 60 in 3rd gear on the three lane A13.

The thing I like about the Z is that although it's really easy to loose control of it, it's also just as easy to get control back.

Although I managed to avoid any accidents or damage to anything i still had to change my pant when I got in :D

Hurrah - it's just started snowing here. Going home could be fun !

Take it easy everyone,

if the snow is that bad leave the Z at home and take the day off work,if thats your only transport.

Better that than to totally trash your pride and joy in the ice.

Why is it this country just cant cope with whatever weather we have?

I'ts not as if us motorists dont pay enough taxes to pay for the roads being passable is it!!!

Cheers,

F.T.

Agreed - usual disaster getting to work with any kind of adverse weather condition, weren't even able to keep the M20 clear FFS!

Mind you, we have to have a huge queue these days if there's a drop of rain. Gritters didn't get rolling 'til about 9.00 am ... thanks guys, just in the nick of time ... not!

Took me 3.5 hours this morning instead of 40 mins and that was after Mrs John-Boy's SLK got stuck twice and school kids were wheeled in for ad-hoc assistance - bless 'em

Can't even imagine what it would have been like in the Z - it's not working so it's not an issue - but I've had enough tense moments today worrying about trashing her motor to leave it at work and get a lift home in a mate's 4x4.

It was really think snow in Swanley and Sidcup - even sent my lot home at 2.30. In fact, I supposed to be working from home now, not on the forum ... doh!

Well I used my pick-up (Nissan ofcourse) when I had to go out last night - for apart from the ice- problems with zxs, the salty roads is bad sh*t for them. But I agree you must use hold on the autobox and accel v. gently!!!

Ive been praying for snow for ages, to go out and have fun in the zed, and what happens when we get some? The drives too steep for me get off it!

As for the brakes, I had mine out in some ice so i slammed em on on an empty road so id know what to expect, and i was very impressed, bought me to a safe stop really well.
