Nice one,so how did you get the pipe on in the end mate?

I didnt in the end! LOL ran out of light so im running them as BOVs! I seem to have developed this sneeze?

You've done what?

I've had a honker for ages & all i do is remove condensation from the resevoir. Ok for a while but it builds up in a few months.

& what pipe is Iain on about, cos i sure im loosing boost.

How much did you pay for new rec's?

Can you be more specific mate :)

Cheers

harve

Can you just cut off the return pipe of the valve and block it off the other end so instead of recirculating it will dump to air.

Is this ok ? Or is it better to replace them ?

hmm this is very interesting. Can any elaborate (ohhh big word for me) on this ? I real keen to know what I need to do.

i replaced my recircs with new ones and guess what ive still got it!

guess i bought a duff set, just my luck!

Hmm...sounds like Big Roy isn't using recircs anymore - the whole point of 'em is to dump the excess back into the system to fill the vacuum left when the throttle snaps shut (AFAIK). If Roy isn't dumping back into the system he's using them as BOVs - replacing recircs with BOVs is known to fix the honk problem...

Harve - which reservoir are you removing condensation from??

My honk seems to come and go with the weather - maybe it's my driving style that changes in the damp/dry and affects it. It certainly doesn't honk now I'm stuck in second gear - LMAO!!!

BTW for all those with autobox shifting problems (like me) - I can't get that blasted Rembrandts Friends theme out of my head - you know the one, 'It's like I'm always stuck in second gear'.....etc

LMAO!!!

Yes,

I replaced my recircs with another set and guess what.......

yep,still got the bloody honk!!

Will definately get some dump valves when I can afford them.

i no its shit but ive been running my car at a low boost setting, about 5 - 8 psi and my goosehonk has got a lot better.

my problems started when i put my controller on.

from what ive been told the recircs are only good for about 9 psi so when u increase the boost and start messing with ya car, this is where the problem originates.

ive looked into this a load on dozens of different forums and every responce has been replace the recircs with bovs.however a couple of people in the states have said even after they put the bovs on they still have this dreaded noise!

ive got myself some bovs and im just waiting to instal em,so i'll let ya no what the results are.jay

Yeah,

Fingers crossed Jay,hope it does the trick.

Why is nothing ever straightforward on a Z?

Sorry if Ive caused any confusion, I fitted TurboXS recircs, basically you can use them as BOVs by just blanking the return hose. All I was saying is that if youve got the honking noise, the chances are (like me) your losing valuable boost through shagged recirc springs. My car feels so much faster now. Price is 299 from Impossible Performance.

Was that £299 for two?

Yep 299 all in, includes fitting kit and delivery.

Just one point - for godsake do NOT just remove the recirc pipe from the valves without plugging the hole in the low pressure return from the recirc. If you don't plug it you leave a HUGE air leak just after the airflow meter which will make you run leeeeeeaaaaaaaannnnnnnn.

CheerZ,

Andy

I'll second that!

Roy,

Do have contact details for impossible performance can't find them on the web.

Cheers,

Dean.

Sorry Deano, I see my secretary dealt with your request!
