Don`t look right, seen many non genuine give poor signals via ConZult.

Do you mean they're not genuine Bosch Jeff? Was just looking on COZ and the ones they sell are Bosch, apparently the same as the originals?

There are different sensors that use a different way of sensing oxygen in the exhaust and they look physically different.

Early ceramic based zerconia element type are the correct ones for all twin turbo and non turbo cars pre the introduction of the 16 bit ecu, after then they uses the slimmer type that have a cover casing with holes in rather than slits of the earlier one`s.

The later ones will not work correctly if used with an 8 bit ecu, in fact they cause problems, e-bay and other suppliers often manage to mix the two types up or will show the fitting application as the same from 1990 to 1998 which of course is incorrect.

The correct one is the same as the one in the picture below for 8 bit ecu and the following for 16 bit.

Found this while looking for info on O2 Sensors as I might need some new ones (see here).

From Amayama I think the part numbers for what JeffTT says are the early 8 bit ones are:

22690-30P00 (RH 89-87)

22690-40P10 (LH 89-97) but take JeffTT's warning on dates

and for the later cars (the lower picture)

22690-46P00 (RH 98 on)

22690-46P10 (LH 98 on)

The Nissan prices seem to be £hundreds so I followed that ebay link, did a bit of searching and came up with that our usual sources have the earlier type but the only place I can find the later type looks like a US aftermarket:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Oxygen-O2-Sensor-for-1986-2001-Infiniti-J30-Q45-Nissan-200SX-300ZX/173761332026?hash=item2874fb833a:g:kLoAAOSw6EpcS3ZI

This says they're the same as 1986-2001 Infiniti J30 Q45 Nissan 200SX.

They are "inexpensive" - has anyone used these?

Cheers, Mike

Don’t bother with them cheap sensors Mike, get some decent Bosch ones. The OEM sensors were made by Bosch and although its not an identical part, the 13091 is an equivalent spec without the high price and is the alternative sold by the major vendors in the US.

You can get them from CZP, Z1 or eBay etc but it’s likely the eBay sellers are also US based anyway. If you have a word with Jimmer, he may be able to sort you out too.

Edit: they’re also plug and play so they use the correct plug, with the correct length of wire and the little harness clip to secure them! [emoji41]

Thanks. I'd prefer the Bosch but the 13091 is the earlier type - the first one in Jeff's post. The later ones have a different part number and are the 2nd ones in Jeff's post. Has anyone used the early type with the later 16 bit ECU / late car and do they work or do I need the later type. Jimmer says he's got a pair of the earlier in stock.

Cheers.

Looked at the O2 sensors yesterday and they are the earlier type. Don't know why they are fitted to S6 but there you go. I emailed ConceptZ and, as helpful as ever, Nick said:

your car originally calls for 22690-46P00 and 46P10. Those supersede into 46P01 and 46P11, and are the same as the US 94-96 sensors. And honestly even those interchange with the 90-93 sensors, even though they call for Nissan part numbers. AND the left and right sensors interchange, the only difference is the length of the harnesses.

So short version, the Bosch 13091 would work fine, and that's what I would go with since they're the manufacturer Nissan used and are way less expensive than Nissan's pricing!

Oh and keep in mind, with the 300ZX you always have to transfer over the little nut insert to fit the stock manifold:

Cheers.

Hi Eggs, There's a company called Rock Auto that I have ordered a few bits from in the past. They have the Bosch 13091 for only £25.96 each with Fedex for £11.52 by 18th March + import duty....

I bought a pair last year that are still sitting in their original boxes as I can't budge the ones on the Z.... lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!
