Ever since I watched the exploration of the moon back in the sixties and seventies, I have always dreamt of owning an Omega Moonwatch.

Well, several years later, (and I meen several) I have finally realised my dream, thanks to my bosses generosity in allowing me to choose a watch for my 25 years of dedicated service. I cannot thank them enough.

I could not believe the attention to detail and quality throughout, even the packaging and presentation boxes are immaculate.

Cannot wait to adjust the bracelet and get the thing up and running.

Dave, congratulations on your 25 years service! I too have one, and for me this photo sums up the pleasure of owning one.

Photograph of Buzz Aldrin was taken by Neil Armstrong in 1969, aboard the Apollo 11 Lunar Module just before they landed on the surface

of the moon. They were conducting pre-landing checks and the excitement they must have been feeling is clearly visible in Aldrin’s face.

Thanks Andrew.

That photo brings it all back, I can see the images of the Module touching down from the downward facing camera now.

Virtually out of fuel if memory serves me right!

Brilliant era of space travel.

Congrats on your new Timepiece Dave, beautiful, just beautiful:thumbup1:

Thanks Rich, I love it.

Just spent a delicate hour adjusting the bracelet, talk about craftsmanship or what, those small screws are exquisite.

Even the jeweler's screwdriver is shaped so as to apply maximise purchase.

Congrats Dave, lovely gift too! I'm looking for a nice high end watch for myself at the moment.

Thanks Si', :thumbup1:

Anything particular?

Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 01 if money was no object. They're around £4k, probably what I have invested in my wheels! I have no problem justifying niceties for the Z, but when it comes to me, I sit on the pot about it for too long!

That's a nice time piece, I did look briefly at the Tag Heuer to be honest.

Just kept coming back to the Omega, it was on my bucket list I guess.

Hey, after all of the attention and money you have lavished on your Zed, why not treat yourself?

Have a Tag myself, got one each for myself and Jo when we got married, still going strong but looks tiny on my wrist compared to my G-shock and other watches:thumbup1:

Have been looking at Tags new smart-watch, the Connected Modular 45, but for my line of work, fancy watches are rarely worn (nights out or special occasions). Wearing a Fitbit at the minute or my G-Shock for work.

Here's the Tag Modular

That's a very striking watch Rich, very authentic looking, yet has some very high tech functions.

I need more watches.

Well I have just learnt something new about my new Omega accessories, apparently, the fancy screwdriver is in fact a tool used for releasing the hinge pins so as to facilitate the changing of the various straps. Doh!

Congratulations on your acquisition matey - I am a big Omega fan and certainly endorse your choice! I don't have a Speedmaster, but I do have two Seamasters and they are certainly my favourites.....

That's a nice timepiece too Si; I don't mind a Tag either..... I have a couple of Carreras, a couple of Aqua Racers, a Monaco and an F1 GMT. However I do think that the Tags have lost their original quality feel of late... Granted, the F1 was always "entry level" and although the new GMT is certainly a step up from where they were, sadly the higher-end models don't seem as "solid" as before. My newest (the black Carrera Calibre 1887) doesn't seem as weighty as the old brown one, despite costing around the same as the one you have your eye on...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks Richard, :thumbup1:

I've promised myself another one in the future, something Co Axial.
