I am going to race a T3/T4 Turbo Integra...Need some input

The Integra has a completely racing motor and T3/T4 Turbo. Also its full limited slip. I've heard that more than 10K invested.

We are going to race for money (600 pounds agreed) and I want to know if you have any idea what can be the 1/4 times (approx.) for such a car.

He sais that he is going to eat me for breakfast and I that i will be his first victim.

P.S My best 1/4 time is 12.115 and my trap speed 193Km. That was at the drags a few months ago (those of you who remember). Temp then was 30+ Celcious and I didnt do any burnout of the tyres. Also I run at 12 PSI.

I am going to use exactly the same setup as before. MT Drags and 110 shot of NOS wet kit and racing gas. This time temp is between 14-18 Celcious and I am going to run 15 PSI. So i believe i will be at 11's for sure.

We are going to race after 1/2 weeks because he needs some time to smooth his motor (just builded).

What u guys think?

Hmm - Integra is FWD, if I recall..

But with a T3/T4 on there, it ought to be putting out some serious welly, it'll be an absolute nightmare to launch properly though..

Hook it up on the line and beat him with the start, I reckon, or you might well get pasted once he hits 2nd or 3rd gear..

Buy a gun in case he wins and asks for his money. :)

Might be worth looking on some yanky sites, some of the Tegs, civics etc over there are fast, not sure there is much of a scene for fast jap FWD scrabble wagons in the UK.

That's a big turbo on a (if I recall) 2l motor..

It'll need monster revs to make it spool, I'm betting, plus he's got all that V-TEC gubbins.. It'll be mega hard to launch, as it'll need tons of revs to get everything moving without bogging, which will probably come at the expense of some serious wheelspin (or clutch slippage) - unless he has traction control, of course..

t3/4 is t3 turbine, t4 compressor.

So this guy has a t4 turbine and t3 compressor? TBH I can't see the advantage of that.

I thought it was the other way round..

Damnit Jezz, you always manage to confuse me.. :P :D

Thats exactly what his got T4 turbine and T3 compressor.

odd, not saying that this is 100% true but AFAIK a T3 compressor is only good for 330-350bhp max, and the big turbine will make it a tad laggy. That's why most people go the T3/4 route. good for upto 450bhp.

I have a T3/34 (TB34 compressor which is a chopped down T04E I think) which is good for 420 max, but prolly not for too long, 385 reliably.

Does he have NOS or anything, what power does he say he has?

Just a quick note: I am not the one who is putting the money. My mechanic will. He is the one who is going to tune my car 2 days before the race. If i win he gets the money I get the glory and thats the only think that interests me. Thats why i am asking.

My mechaninc sais that he must be putting around between 400-450 hp (not rwhp).

That sounds like a perfect relationship. :)

Nice. :)

Generally, on turbo'd VTEC cars, they ditch the VTEC stuff. That is, of the two I have read about, and one that ive seen / spoke to the owner, VTEC is not there, still rev very high albeit not in the VTEC kind of way. I have no idea what power it'll be running, cos you can set it up different ways, if he has a race ecu, such as motec/dta management the engine mapping on that could be done perfectly and have really high power.

As for FWD traction, if he has a good quality LSD, traction wont really be a problem (proven many times with the old F2 cars in the rally when they were on tarmac, often equalling the 4wd cars, before anyone says anything :p )

All in all, a totally useless post in giving you info that you want, only to say have fun - make sure there are no pedestrians round and stuff!

If he says he is sure he is going to win, and he wont tell you his proper specs - BHP, torque and all that bollocks, then you'll probably lose. ;)

Oh and if its not your money, just race and see what happens ;)

well get him of the line id imagine you shoudl be able to do that.

(i raced a ASTRA TURBO with big blower 25psi) i was on stock boost and ate him of the line..

Have you got those time slips from that last event you went to?

i remember they were going to post the results on a website?

Yes the result can be found at http://www.dragster.gr

But everything is in Greek and I cannot post the direct link since the Web site is using Frames.

Here is a bit of help. Go to dragster.gr and when you enter chose the 3rd option at the left called something like "Agones". Then at the right frame you will get the races. Choose the one dated 05 - 06.10.2002 (the third one.

Go at the bottom of the loaded race and there are 5 links (those are the races). My number is 47. The column 1 is the reaction time

Ohh and another think. The 12.115 at 193Km cannot be found there bcause it was my very first unofficial time and is not posted

I have found an Integra turbo which only produces 225(ish)bhp at 7psi.
