So my SSR 3 piece wheels will be going for a full refurb, question is, what finish should I go with??

These wheels are only a stop-gap until I decide what I want regarding brakes and setups (keep the 6 piston SRT8's and go 19's).

If the brakes don't sell, the Veilsides will go on the red Z with the Porsche Brembo's and I'll go 19's on the blue Z with the SRT8 calipers, (19's would look better proportioned on a LWB than a SWB)

So, question is ... do I get the centre's painted silver, gold, black, white, gunmetal, dark chrome etc and polish the rims, polish the rims and centre's or what?? Gold, chrome, black or black chrome bolts??

Probably sell these off in a while, so what would be the most "marketable" / "desirable" finish to get a decent sale if required??

silver or gold i think, when u have black wheel there design gets lost as you sometimes can't tell wot they are unless u had massive discs behind them

Yellow... Im having my daily driver changed to yellow...red body. Sickening but I like it....so be different and go yellow!

Brushed centre and chrome lip. Will sell quick too.

Well Rob, any pics of brushed centre's, are they diamond cut finish??

Brushed means the centre is scuffed with an abrasive material, i.e: scotchbrite and then a clear coat is applied.

I concede, that does look good. :)

Me too - it certainly does..... Hell, I'm even liking the black mirrors; my AMG has gloss black mirrors so I have been contemplating that same look for my Zed...

But back to the wheel question, gold looks good on a red (or even blue) car for sure. However if you're still thinking of selling the wheels on later, then stick with the traditional silver alloy colour. They go with any colour and will appeal to a much wider market, when you're looking for a buyer!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

If you are going to sell them dont waste any time and money on a professional refurb... you will never get the money back.

Just clean them up yourself and use them till you decide permanently what you are doing. IMHO of course

Sadly Rob expensive stuff does not sell easily or quickly in the UK. Classic example being the brakes he has up for sale. Even worse for Richie in the Emerald Isle.

Potential buyers will struggle to view them before buying and shippping will put the price up.

Photobucket is dead. For anyone using it, dump all your photos before you have to subscribe. Subscriptions are something stupid like $300 a year.

To be honest, I quit using photobucket a year or so ago after it ground to a halt with all the pop ups and adds. I couldn't get past my second page of photos.

It is now a completely useless website.

Perhaps I should rewrite the tutorial to use imgur instead.

Anyway back on topic :)
