so my uk clocks have arrived and there seems to be one plug different to what is on the car, i have a 12 way socket on the gauges, but only a 8 way plug on the car, do i need to change the plug or can i just connect it up? i just don't want to go and plug anything in and damage something. looking at the extra pins on the socket they look to be mainly grounds that are connected elsewhere.

the uk clocks came off an early car.

Looks like you've got a newer style S2 dash cluster. I am pretty sure they aren't compatible.

hmm not sure all the references i'm finding to uk clusters are the same as the one i have, however looking at the aus 300zx site mine is the same as their 89-92 cluster, i suppose the other option is to swap gauges etc to my JDM cluster

Let me go and check mine, the glass is out, so it'll be easy to just pop off the binnacle and have a gander. I think yours is a 91 like mine.

Checked - mine's the same as your UK clocks. I didn't have to modify my connectors at all and they fitted straight in. That's very odd as your original clocks look like they use smaller ones.

yes very strange indeed, i've just found another thread from some years back that confirms my clocks are 1991 uk clocks as the ones in the thread are the same as mine, the JDM clocks are as mine, i know there were 2 different clock manufacturers so perhaps thats the key. however it turns out i can swap the uk guts into the JDM cluster, so a little more work but not impossible.
