So my turbo failed it's MOT the other day, very high levels of hydrocarbons in the exhaust gasses, I'm going to have a bit of poke round the car tomorrow but anything common I should focus on? Car is a 1992 turbo jap import and has a catback stainless exhaust, 87,000, fresh oil , seems to run nicely , makes good power, very smooth no hesitation and had about a 1/4 tank of premium fuel in at the time , any suggestions very welcome !

Thanks again

Will

I thought cars registered before 94 were exempt from emission tests??

They still have to pass a basic emissions test, which should be easy unless there is something wrong with the engine.
