I was going to use my jack to do some work on the daily car today and realised I must have lost the blooming thing when moving house  so going to have to get a new one!

It's been years since I've jacked the Z up with a normal jack as I've used a mates garage for most of the work I've done over the past few years, but swear I used to have to drive onto blocks and then jack the subframe from behind the front wheel...

Does anyone have a recommendation of a low profile jack that would allow using from the front of the car to jack the subframe? (Understand I'll still need to drive onto planks to get the jack under)

I think the main issue I can see with a lot of the low profile ones, is they still seem to still have a high body, which I assume to to still allow the pivot to be high? Not an issue when jacking up a low car with sill jacking points, but still a pain when trying to get to the subframe on a Z.... also you have the issue of space to move the handle.

Just get some of these. .........

I use two sgs-engineering 2 ton low profile jacks, get them in from the front of the car. Pretty good, seem strong, and the lever socket rotates too.

However I'm not a fan of the normal 3 ton normal jack they have. Jacked under the diff, within an hour the car begins to lower.

Bought one of these from Costco. Low profile 9cm and deep reach (will reach front cross member without ramps). Built

like a brick out house and very heavy. Always use axle stands on FSM jacking points for safety.

Some good options there, cheers guys.

Will get a set of those ramps and decide on a jack. only about 20 mins away from all 3 places luckily!

Was that one in Costco recently Andrew?

Interesting to see this thread being revived. I'm currently in the market for a low-profile trolly jack.

Was initially looking at an SGS, however I don't know much about the brand and come across some 'mixed' reviews when I had a look on Google.

Recently went into my local Machine Mart and was surprise at the size and weight of some of the low profile Clarke units.

If anyone else has any recomendation I'd certainly like to hear them. Perhaps i'll actually get off my arse and buy one... :whistling:
