hi guys can anyone tell me what the original alcantera colour is on a series 2 zed? i want to change my series 1 to alcanterra, and i have found an almost complete set of panels local to me, but the door cards have had holes cut in them for tweeters, and the rear 1/4's obviously no good for a series 1, so i may have to get my original panels recovered to match (or as close as possible)

If it's Elly's interior you've bough, it's not alcantara, it's velour.

Bear in mind they fade so it would be hard to get an exact colour match. Imo you would need to get physical samples to compare

Nope. Alcantara was generally available on 93 onwards when specified with leather. They're both nice.

 

Jimmer also has a number of good velour interior panels - so you could have yourself a decent set with both of them and a bunch of spare material.

 

As for the seat belts, you can still use the newer rear quarter panels, they unlip from the upper. You can either live with that, get seat belts from a series 2 fitted or do what I did and scoured the internet in the US and eventually find a set of US spec velour rear quarters from a 2+2 with no seat belt cut outs. Took me about a year and a half to do that, very rare and hard to get hold of.

i don't fancy the messing about trying to fit series 2 seat belts to be honest, so i'm either in for long search for the rears or need to find the closest colour possible and recover my current rear 1/4's. luckily i'm off to see jimmer in a few weeks for an oil change and a few other small jobs so i can take a look at what panels he has. elly did offer me door cards but someone cut holes in them to fit tweeters so only option there would have been trying to swap the material over, i don't think that would of been very successful if i'm honest

The Velour is like a medium pile Blue cloth and came on Series 2/3 that came with cloth seats.

The Alcantara is a short pile grey cloth and came on Series 2/3 that came with Leather seats.

 

You could always do the rear seat belt conversion and fit some subtle tweeters back in to cover the odl tweeter holes ?
