I am starting a group buy as it may help some people looking to go selin in the future.

The main part of this group buy will be for the two 90° silicone hoses to connect the MAFs to the intercooler pipes seen here:

WhatsApp Image 2017-04-17 at 13.19.57.jpeg

You can buy these pipes from Z1 as part of a kit however the price is about $300 over the standard selin, which I think is an unreasonable premium.

Cost of a pair of pipes custom made for us, is £12, and can be done in a variety of colours. Postage for a single item is £28, so the group buy can lower overall cost including shipping estimate as below:

1 person: £40

5 people: £21.79

10 people: £19

Price continues to reduce for every participant so every member appreciated

Colours can be Blue/red/black/purple/yellow/orange/white/pink/green etc.

Also I am thinking about making the support bracket between them which the selin bolts to and add some rigidity to the free-hanging MAFs (seen in picture above). This will be made from 3mm aluminium. This will be made by me in July so there will be a wait time if you are prepared to wait for this.

1 person £10

5 people: £7

There are also other Z32 hoses that can be purchased (as part of this) but individual inquiry will be required as I don't know what is currently manufactured by them.

This group buy is courtecy of Yuehua Lau on facebook and an just doing this for our benefit.

Let me know if you have any questions or requests, I just think the Z1 ones are a bit too rich. :)

Price subject to change bear with me just talking to manufacturer.

You don't nessisary need selin hoses, mine are z1's own, and for my NA when I had wing mount ram intakes it was ash spec hoses from the UK,

Mounting brackets a good idea, if you've ever seen mine with the heavy z1 pop chargers they dangle round like it's got bugs bunny teeth,

Sorry for the confusion they are't selin bought hoses, they are chinese sourced to fit a selin conversion. It has a different inlet and outlet so I couldn't find any for a reasonable price in the UK so having some custom made for a good price.

Couldn't find anything specific as it is 80mm MAF side, 65mm intercooler pipe side.

Ash only does 80mm to 70mm from what I found, so would not be a snug fit but might be alright. About double the price though and we have many more colour options :)

Though correct me if wrong.

Ali, where did you find these hoses for sale at $300? The original Selin kit is $120 and Z1 do a kit for $68.

I'm also keen to see if anyone has had experience using 90degree couplers for this as I'm sure the Selin kit is more like 100degree (the exact angle would need confirmation). It's tight in there so they would have to be a specific size.

Hi Joel,

I used this as reference https://www.z1motorsports.com/air-intakes/z1-motorsports/300zx-dual-intake-package-p-5215.html

I did not find your kit through the search function, so this one is $300 on top of the base selin price for what I could suss an extra air filter, the brackets and hoses, and a used MAF. The MAF here must be what was causing the brunt of the price increase so perhaps not a fair comparison.

I am using the selin ones for reference:

P1100913-1-3_1024x1024.jpg?v=1412920307

Which look to be about a 70 degree angle, but before I place the order I will go in the engine bay and measure the angle for the two MAFs to sit straight next to each other.

The MAF side is 80mm and intercooler is 65mm so the hose will be a snug fit.

Base price of the two pipes are £12, and there is another £47 charge on top for a custom mould (so I better make my measurements correct!) with postage of ~£35. Local UK postage is £2.79 on top per person.

So with my maths for 10 people it comes out to £22.99 for the pair of hoses delivered to your door.

I will then need to fabricate the aluminium brackets so the MAFs are rigid, which I am charging a price of around £7 as I have to buy materials and spend a few hours cutting each one out, though this bracket is optional.

The silicone is 3ply @ 4.5mm but I can opt for 4ply @ 5mm or more if you think it would be better. I can see the selin and Z1 ones are 4 ply.

Let me know what you think guys or if you have any questions.

Ali if you do me a drawing of the bracket ill have them laser cut

I was going to cut them myself but If you think it will do everyone a favour then that would be best. I'll do you a cdr file when this gets rolling :)

As I said I have the z1 kit, so if you need any measurements etc can always look at mine,

Hi Ash can you do me a drawing or a photo with dimensions i can create an autocad drawing for laser cutting

This laser cut bracket will probably cost more that Ali's home made version so I recon we could offer it as an option to choose either one.

I will probably get them anodised as well to protect them and get a price for a stainless version.

I think I will do some modifications to it also, as attaching it to the bumper may be inconvenient so may attach it next to the headlight, but I will see.

If it is of help, I have an unused Selin bracket (arrowed) to work from. I'm using the plate

below it, but could take basic measurements.

Yes please Andrew every bit of info helps and gives us options.
