Bumper Crack

hi Guys, im fixing a crack on my bumper and have done the fibre glass on the back but was wondering what type of filler to use on the front, as well as on other defects (now i've cleaned off the non hardened plastic filler.) The reason i ask is that while sanding back, the existing filler used on top of the grp/gelcoat whatever you call it, resembles the std filler used on solid structures, P38/Upol/bondo etc. i mean the plastic filler is pricey and the P38 type is not.
