Hello good people of the 300zx forum I am in need of replacing the nock sensor, I have taken out the fuel injectors and under that is a block held down by 6 bolts however 2 of the bolts are hidden behind a steel pipe which I have no idea where it leads to so I'm asking does anyone know? They can be removed at the flange, 2 bolts each. The picture, although not the best shows you the location.

To avoid the plenum pull, you could relocate the knock sensor (search relocate knock sensor 300zx and you'll find loads of info). I had this done on my first silver TT http://www.angelfire.com/geek/vg30dett/DSR/DetSenRel01.html and there's other options http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/786419/TECH-Detonation-Sensor-Relocation.html

It's true that the OEM position is where Nissan wants it, but the above might give you some other options.
