Hello, everyone! I am Ed, as I have bought my first 300zx I decided to create a build thread to show others what I am going to be doing and to ask stupid newbie questions :)

So few weeks ago I have bought my first 1991 twin turbo manual 2+2 300zx. Before that I had r33,s13 and loads of bmw`s. Z is a JAP import spec, 43 000 mix of miles and Km, shell is pretty much rust free besides few bubbles on the boot lid.

Engine has been rebuilt 2000 miles ago so it runs spot on,it is currently on a stock boost. I am waiting for the stage 1 turbonoz chip to arrive, so that will take me to around 380-420 bhp with a 15 psi boost, more than enough ! :)

Current plans for the car is Coilovers, Full car wrap, new wheels, engine mods, body mods like side skirts, splitter, diffuser, exhaust, making interior as clean as possible.

I have also started a youtube channel for this car just to keep the records of everything what i am going to be doing on it :D first video ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5gqIG1Z2eI

I will keep my thread updated once any job is done! Thank you for reading, here is few pics of how it is currently looking :)

Today I have also worked on installing GReddy Profec B Spec 2 boost controller. Never done that before and I thought that I need to take the car to someone more experienced.

I have struggled to find any useful information for twin turbo engines but after watching one video which was super unclear and going through a diagram decided to try it anyway.

It was actually super easy and decided to do a DIY video in case anyone else needs help here is a link : https://youtu.be/LU17Wj6mHXM :)

It says CD Changer on it, so I assume all I need to do is just remove it completely

Ah so its not messing with any engine wires. Fair enough, I get paranoid about unknown aftermarket gizmos ;)

it had like double din unit, then another cd player under it, and some massive speakers in the in door cards, pretty much trying to remove all the nonsense to keep it as clean as possible, going to remove all the cd changer wiring tomorrow :)

Nice to see another Zed getting saved.

That car has hardly moved for 8 years so I hope all the fuel pipes/brake pipes etc and all the usual service things that would need changed in that time get sorted bud, get the basics done first before modifying :)

Also 15psi boost will not give anywhere near 420bhp IMO.

Nice to see another Zed getting saved.

You'd be pushing it with stock 370cc injectors too

Full service is done, fuel and brake pipes are in very good condition. Im not going to push it to 15psi but the chip apparently is capable of pushing 15psi. I`m going to make it around 12-13psi thats more than enough I think.

Got the Coilovers installed today, can`t be happier with the quality of these budget coils ! went for a good 60 mile cruise today, and they feel amazing on the road. Youtube link: https://youtu.be/TaZT64J6wnk

Thank you ! Received a turbo timer today, still waiting for the lug nuts and rear tyres :/

Yesterday was a challenging day, got the tyres mounted and decided to fit them. Rear went kind allright but I had to roll the arch which wasnt a problem, but the front was touching a caliper ( due to a supplier sending me wrong ET wheels, obviously my fault for not checking). Had a 10mm spacer to try on but it was still touching slightly so that means I need around 12 mm spacer. I decided to go for 15mm to be safe. Follow my complete journey in my video : https://youtu.be/TvfTJruM3Ag

Have you considered how this effects your front/rear track ratio? Seeings as your wheels are equal width and a 10mm spacer would of created equal offset. You effectively have 5 degrees more up front.

Might be worth checking, some insurance companies will invalidate your insurance because of that Turbo timer.
