Where do I get a radio band width expander from?.....

....for my stock radio.I can only pick up radio 2 at the moment, on my import car.

Is it specifically an expander you're after? I was under the impression that all that could be done with the stock HU was have the frequency band *shifted* up about 10MHz.

I'd guess that most car audio places could do that, alternatively you could try some import garages (the place that imported my car did the HU themselves).

On the other hand, have you got particular love for the stock HU? Why not get a new one? =)

I had a stock Jap radio and junked it immediately - it was rubbish (had one of those slots for putting little boxes full of flat string - checked the history books and it's called a 'cassette'), maybe yours is a little more desirable. smile.gif

However, there are a number of places that do import conversions, most will sell converters eg :-

At least you NEVER have to listen to Fat Boy Moyles on R1

Jez, if you need one give me a call and i`ll get one in the post for a pricely £17.50.

I wouldn't bother, I tried 2 types and they were both crap. I'd bite the bullet and get a new hi-fi.

Hi,

If I was keeping the car, I would change the entire stereo, but I'm in the process of selling it, and the potential buyer requested that I find out for him.

Thanks,
