Right. Today I've been out with the Z. She's looking tired and in need of some serious work.

Mechanically I should be able to cover all bases.

But body work wise. I need help.

She's going to need a full respray but I can only see the top surface.

I have a problem with rust as the previous owners didn't treat it right and during the 11 years of their ownership neglected it.

The two picture below show my 'Temporary Repair' to stop water getting into the car.

One shows the near side bottom corner of the rear windshield glass in the tailgate and the second near side top of the windscreen.

I have dug out the poor previous attempt carried out by previous using clear bathroom sealant [emoji19]

I have dried it out the best I can and resealed with black silicone the I use to do temp repairs on the roadside on broken cars etc.

This is by all means a bodge.

What I am looking for is someone near to Littlehampton. With the knowledge of these cars and come and have a look at mine and tell me what I really need to do.

Spring and summer are fast approaching and I want to make some serious headway into this car and it problems.

Help a fellow out here guys.

Looks a bit messy, but should not be insurmountable....

....The rear is easy, just buy a replacement tailgate. Not worth mucking around trying to repair the rust there, replacement probably more economical.

For the front roof section, I'd say that needs cutting out and a new panel welding in. Not sure how hard or expensive that will be; but would suggest speaking to Boldy of Bodymech. He's a trader on here - and very well respected as a bodywork specialist.

Good luck with the repairs - hope you get everything sorted.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

That's what I was thinking with the tailgate Richard. Keep the cost down. Cheaper to get sprayed that fight with the rust. Water has been getting in so who knows what evil lurks beneath the skin.

Alic. I'll take you up on that along with the other stuff. Need to arrange a date to come up and collect it all. ☺[emoji1360]
