I have had one break-in and someone was snooping round my car again last night at 3:30am.

I'm getting VERY worried now.

I have an AutoWatch CAT1 alarm (not sure of the model without digging the paperwork out)

What are my options for scaring/catching them BEFORE they do the damage?

It's already cost me nearly £200.00 for a new lock/handle assembly and fitting.

I have seen those cheezy alarms that sound like Robocop and tell you to step away from the car. Is there anything similar that will interface to my existing alarm?

I got a pager from Bob but not fitted it yet and could do with something to set it off before the idiots shag the locks only to find its alarmed and run off.

Moving house in a few weeks and I'm interested in fitting some kind of security post in the drive too. Any ideas?

How do you know....are you sure it was not a cat ?

Can understand that

Don't know it....but they're all the same

BEFORE ???

Well....

Have a sentinel

Have a pittbull

Put her in a garage

Use a microwave sensor (a.k.a. Radar), but it'll activate each and everytime something will come close to your car), nicxe thing is that you can adjust the "security bubble" around your car...so if they come CLOSE to it..it'll activate

If you always park on the same spot, install a security camera (could be a rergular CCTV, a wireless, or even a fake (but with a large blinking red led then))

I'll install mine over the weekend...will be fun.

Sure...everything is possible. It only depends on your skills.

You can install a microwave sensor, and a talking module...

BTW, what I would personally add is a couple home made killers.

Things that would force the car NOT to rev past 2400 rpm, or have it stall after 30 secs of driving it.

Of course, a pump action gun, a AUG, gatling and a kalashnikov, combined with a couple assault grenades is a valid defense line as well.

Zee you

Chris me old matey,

Sorry to hear this, not nice when someone is clocking your motor for whatever dodgey reason. AutoWatch are korking alarms though aren't they? Aren't they the preffered choice in South Africa? I was looking at Cliffords' but the guy at the alarm shop was pointing me towards the AutoWatch.

Anyway, try kipping in the back seat of your motor for one night under cover of a blanket or something! Sounds rediculous but when the f**kers come back, bat them big time on your drive!!!

I would!

I've got three Rotties, you could borrow a couple, but I wouldn't want them catching anything if they bit some twocer!

I'm due to move house soon, somewhere with a garage so when I get my car back I'm going to electrify the garage door and put spots and cameras up!

Hope you get through this with your car unscathed!

Thanks guys.

I suppose I need to speak to an AutoWatch dealer and see if they can add some sensor upgrades. The garage I got the car from fitted the alarm but I'm not happy with them.

I woke up the other night at about 3am and a few minutes later heard a car outside.

I jumped out of bed and went downstairs to see 2 guys in a pickup looking at the Z.

Opened the curtains and they shot off.

Lucky i woke up!

I live in a small village out of town and there is never anyone about much after midnight so I know they are coming specially for my Z.

Mentioned this to my neighbour and it turned out he had a big 1KW security light in the garage he had not got round to fitting so I gave him a hand putting it up today!

I can get a camera that plugs into the video and starts recording when it senses motion for about £70.00 - Think I'll get one.

Hi Chris, sorry to hear about your problem, how about putting a microwave sensor on that will trigger the pager if someone gets to close, you could also wire it to eather a talking interface to warn them off or a piezo buzzer.

Give me a call if you want a chat on the options.
