Spent the afternoon at Lee Dents today with my new slicktop. My plan was to just get it running & keep it na for now. But after thinking about it most of the day I like the idea of a big build, convert it to a TT, get it resprayed White/black/yellow? make it really special. To do this I'd have to sell my LWB TT which I really don't want to do as I've put so much into it but the idea of a new build is quite exciting. So how do I price the LWB? Prices seem to be all over the place at the moment as has been discussed quite a bit recently. Bit of info on the car, it's a 1990 TT manual, stock engine, recent respray, one piece prop, competition clutch, xtd lightweight flywheel, adjustable camber arms (z1 front uppers), Meister coilovers, twinz diffuser, 18" Blitz alloys, Stillen lip. Interior lets it down a bit but it's still presentable. I'm just thinking about this at the minute as I really don't want to sell plus it's the wrong time of year to sell a car but advice on price would help.

I had a very special WRC xsara a few years back with the number plate C17 WRC (CITroen World Rally Champion) which yours reminds me of.

Thanks mate, I love this car too which makes me think should I sell it? But I could make one hell of a good slicktop with the money from it. & I would be keeping the plate.

If I could keep both I would but it just depends on what you want as an end result. Thought about robbing a bank? You could keep em both then...

If you have an idea of a figure you want for it to make the build work, maybe stick it in the classifieds and see what serious interest you have? There seems to be an increasing number of people wanting to buy these cars that have set decent budgets. It's a very tidy example and will command a healthy price tag (relative to trends over the last 10 years).

Maybe just slow-ball it for a while and see where the build goes with what funds you can save as time goes on and then if you really want to progress it you can look into selling your lovely LWB. Depends what time-scale you want to look at really!

Put your LWB up for sale at a price that says - 'if it goes at that it goes, so be it....i got a price i was happy with'.

 

We don't know your financial situation but i'd be inclined to hold onto both, they are investments so to speak with no depreciation.

 

Looking at the slicktop as i was on Friday, it does need some work and some work means £££££££, funding this in a proper fashion, my guess would be through the sale of the LWB.

 

Is the slicktop a series 3, about a 93 ?

I'd keep the LWB and park up the slickkie, start buying a few bits and pieces when they come up or when you have funds available, do it bit by bit and hold onto both of them:thumbup1:

Cheers guys. I think you're all right about trying to keep hold of the LWB, although I might put it up for sale at a high price to test the water & see what happens. I'll have to see how it goes next year having two zeds, maybe use the slicktop as a run around & keep the LWB for shows. Might even let the wife use it, maybe. The slicktop is a project but it could be a cheap one as most of the parts are there. Depends how far I want to go with it.

It is a 93 Andy, nearly the same reg as Gary's as its a BOM.
