Sabellaz32 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 My dash has all curled up due to heat damage right where the demister vents are next to the screen. Is this common? And do people generally need a new dash? I can't think of a way to fix it without replacing it Jake Quote
Alic Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Yeah they generally do that. Both my cars have it, but it's not that big of a deal for me. I've got one here next to me and personally I would take the dash out, put some glue under it and clamp it down to dry. Quote
Sabellaz32 Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 Okay cheers. The problem I have is I want to be able to fit the vent I bought from you and the space where it fits is misshaped! I'll have a look at it see what I can do Quote

groover Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 You dont need to take the dash out to do the repair http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?41433-Repairing-a-quot-peeled-up-quot-dashboard-Update Quote
sdriver73 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Mine has come up a little on passenger side but mine will be coming out at some point so I can see what's going on Quote
Alic Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Here's what's going on lads You can see in the 2nd pic that the surface is supposed to be glued to the plastic, and should be right up against the edge where the brown stuff ends. This means that it doesn't just peel up but also back away from the top. In the last two you can see that when you glue it, you really need to stretch it then glue it so the vent sit nicely on it. Yes Jake those are your vents. Are bring posted tomorrow. Quote
