Ordering a plug and play ecu from Noz today finally after I clarify pricing. But from his site his expertise here and fair price makes it a no brainier to give it a try. I'm not confident in ordering a chip that I have to solder in myself. Hopefully I will actually gain something from the chip vs the garbage purchase as many of the chips from eBay.

Even if only I gain throttle response and a happier revving engine with and increase in fuel economy I'll be happy. Any thoughts? Is the install as simple as it appears with the plug and play unit even if I have the HKS ALC?

You can also squeeze a little more out of the non turbo by advancing the timing slightly (max 17tdc ) NOTE : this cannot be done with the TT.

Ensure the car is all serviced up and set up to get the best from the new eprom, if you want to go a bit further with power, after market tubular headers make a big difference.

I have aftermarket headers stainless steel that I will be installing as well as a one piece driveshaft. I'm not looking for a drag racing automobile but a more responsive sports car that I can enjoy. So the chip will aid in that? Increasing the timing will it harm my engine long term?

Provided everything else is set up ok, the n/a engine will benefit from a small adjustment as I said, the main deal here is with no forced induction the load is way less which means long term will not be a problem. When you fit those headers you will notice a real big difference how it revs and pick up, all of the mods you have will work together very nicely.

 

The original eprom ( chip ) will soldered to the board and the best way to deal with this is find an electronics shop / workshop that will do it for you, we always used a company who did ecu repairs so knew always did a great job, get them to fit a socket and from there on you can just plug in the new chip, should not cost more $50.

Also I'm not trying to detonate my engine by having too much advance timing and incorrect map settings. My car runs strong right now and hopefully it'll operate even better after the addition of a chip. I'm also looking at the Ash chips since he's been a major tuner of Z32 cars and his local in in the states.

 

With all the modified cars here what chips or tunes do you all have and what are the results?
