Hi when you put an earth to the pump can you hear it work straight away or only when the key is turned.

You can earth it temporarily till you find the bad earth connection.

If I'm honest I wouldn't run it until you jack it up, see where the leak is and get some oil back in. Running it with low/no oil will shred the guts out of it.

leaks .. input shaft seal/ gasket out put shaft seal cracks or maybe it had a loop on on were the oil cooler was if its looped it could have came off and this will make all the oil come out.

Heavy white smoke? And coolant is still clean?

Is it not the residual oil from where your oil cooled adapter was leaking? That would be about the right area.

that's what am thinking lets hope it is just that I did take it around the block it drove fine all the gauges seem normal

Personally I would give it a good run to clean any residue out of the system. Then if problem still occurs then start checking further things.

the smoke come through the bonnet near the break master cylinder

Was this straight after you started the engine or once you'd been driving. If it only happened whenthe engine was warm it might just be oil residue evaporating off as Stephen said

Why not do a proper job and get under there, clean and inspect. You won't get it all off particularly if your exhaust is old and rusty. But your going to reduce it. A little oil goes a long way, smoke wise.
