"Some find the aggressive 'bottom-feeder' looks slightly odd, but they have dated well."

"The twin-turbocharged engine is a muscly, if somewhat characterless unit,"

"The 'T-bar' targa roof is easy to remove, but is quite heavy,"

Why would you say things like that? Surely you would be trying to sell the pants off this?

1990 Black MT NA LWB = 2014 - 2020 (Sold)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2015 - 2017 (Stripped & Scrapped)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2017 - 2021 (Sold)

1991 Black MT TT LWB = 2018 - 2021 (Sold)

1989 Red AT TT LWB = 2021 - XXXX (Kept)

We of course would all be well happy if our £6k zeds became £20k rare gems overnight but truth is it is not going happen, well not just yet.

This is a simple case of the used car industry tying to manipulate the market with high prices, on the premise that if enough traders ask for high prices then that will become the norm.

Trouble is as much as well all love the z32 they and this one do not come without the typical zed characteristic faults, this one in particular could be what they say an absolute gem, but, start using it as a daily as a twin turbo should be driven and you will soon see that your £20k spend been just the start of your wallet bashing, the seller even describe`s the engine as a "somewhat characterless unit" which for me suggests immediately it is not running correctly, be it in low boost mode, timing wrong or even worse turbo issues, I would never in a million years describe the engine when running correctly in that way??

I am not been a hater but at £20k it need`s to be damn perfect and the pictures show a tidy example not a perfect one, the arial is up in ever outside picture, I would hazard a guess it is stuck up as it is unlikely they had the radio on whilst doing the pictures, the offside indicator / side light unit looks to be not straight, could be not fitted correctly after a bulb change, however the bumper below where the inter cooler vents are also looks distorted, call me a cynic but that could mean it has had previous damage in that area and not lined up correctly?? The interior shots look tired, all acceptable in a well price car but not at £20k, no way, no engine shots is odd, when your selling a sports car.

The seller has gone to some clever lengths to suggest its a super classic but at the same time saying its a heavy car with clumsy targa roof and a lack luster engine, but in such a way as many would not notice, of course this covers him if someone paid the money and were less than happy after.

I think those statements were copied from the "Honest John" review, which is fairly poor and inaccurate.

Completely off the scale of sense and reality, this is both the trade and owners trying to force the values up, this also not confined to Jap metal, try finding a 70`s Escort Mexico under £30k !! its like house prices before 2008! cars are been used as currency because actual money has little value long term investment potential.

But the classic car scene has been here before with E types jags and such selling for £200k one year then dropping like stones again once the money market picks up, and can go either way really, for me trusting spending the deep end of £30k on a car barely out of nappies in real classic terms is way too risky, that Supra for instance on Piston Heads is horrendous and will never have a resale close to that value, I mean they made thousand of them and not like they are rare, go to a Jap car show and you will see fields of them, the 300zx as great as it is will never be an Escort Mexico or an E type jag, there is of course a following and keeping the prices realistic will actually be more fruitful to the marque in my view.
