Yes and no. Most places will make a generic decat but there is less clearance with an auto and often a mallet will be required to make it fit... Some decats will not fit autos outright.

What decat are you eyeing up and for an auto or manual.

I have a manual 1996 tt, I'm looking at a pair of jap speed decats

Jap speed have had varying success on here as they are made in China every batch differs. They have had clearance issues with the floor pan sometimes, nothing that can't be fixed with a mallet, but it's not a direct fit nonetheless. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?184922-Japspeed-decats-are-they-just-wrong

Perhaps worth a punt since they are quite cheap, you decide, maybe you get lucky :D

As Alic said mate, mine were hitting the floor a little. We just knocked them in a little bit and they're ok.

Same here!

My japspeed decats needed a lump hammer and a block of wood to fit my manual. They're fine now though.

I used the Japspeed decats when mine was auto and fitted fine, it was about 8 years ago so probably a good batch then lol

I bought japspeed and they don't fit round the auto box at all - haven't had the time to get them back off and hammer them into shape so the car's still on stands!

got a japspeed set of ritchie k and when i got them fitted due to the auto box being square the pipes hit and rubbed, the garage said they could cut out and weld the pipes to fit. when I went back under I was amazed at the total abortion they have made of it, cost me 100 for the pipes then a further 180 for the fit. My advise go to infinity or longline and get a set made at around 150

there are japseed decats that are meant for manual cars car and there are other decats cant remember that make mite have been peco ones thats fit auto and manual car, you can get japspeeds one on the auto car as said but smashing the pipe to make them fit its a little bit of a botch up. any good work should but easy cut and reweld them to fit very simple job

On the subject who bought the set of Japspeed decats that ended tonight on ebay for £1.20?
