Im after a new clutch for the coming upgrades.

 

Competition Clutch's Stage 4 looks appealing.

 

Any other valid opinions please and state reasoning.

 

I want it to take over 500lbft Daily, not that i will ever get that, more so i have the growing room.

 

I currently have....xtd...which i just dont have faith in.

 

Experiences on zeds please :)

I have a stage 2 organic one in zeb. Very good bite and smooth pedal doesnt slip at all so im pleased with it.

what power you have ian? i assume competition clutch?

 

I like competition clutch on tomfromthenorths account after swapping with his XTD.

 

Also Joelyp has the RPS max but im unsure of his power and any recent accounts of his experience.

i have stage 4 comp clutch with maching flywheel currently running 490lb ft tourque , not done to many miles so far but feels pretty good and seems to handle the power alot better than my xtd did! if your in daily traffic though the stage 4 is not advised as very positive bite needs high revs when taking off otherwise it really does not like it at all, a pain in traffic but fine if your boosting in off-peak hours

XTD getting a bit of stick so far but my stage 3 handles the 504bhp i have at the wheels no problem :cool3:.

I have a stage 2 CC rated to 550ftlb. It's held up well for a few years now, quite heavy when the engines off.

u got lucky mine couldnt even handle 420 at the wheels pmsl

I have a Twin plate OS Giken, with it own lightened flywheel, running 595bhp and similar torque. Brilliant bit of kit, decent feel and not savage whilst driving in traffic. Only covered 3k miles with, so far, so can't comment on longevity. Not cheap though.

yeah my XTD seems to be a bit shoddy. and i want piece of mind.

 

I dont mind the grabbiness of the stage 4 my xtd is like that now and its a weekend car,

 

Stephen their website states its 450lbft, although i just had an email from one of their reps stating it can handle 600bhp even though every clutch is rated in force being lbft...

Yes its a competition clutch im only running 350bhp.

Odd. I kinda deliberately went for the 500ftlb range as a longer term investment parts wise. It's a single plate, not a puck clutch or anything.

Dont mind going for the Puck clutch either.

I used to have an exedy puck clutch in my white zed.......absolutely hated it. For everyday driving where i live, plenty of hill starts it was shocking.......shuddered like mad. So changed it to a full face one now a far nicer drive.
