I think I may have a fault with my left hand side turbo, (as I sit in the car) I think it is not boosting for some strange reason.

I suspect that I may have disturbed/damaged something when I grounded the car accidently, catching the left hand side down pipe.

Is it possible to easily isolate each turbo at a time so as to see the function of each one individually?

It's definitely not responding as she used to.

Thanks in advance..

You could fit a Jspec turbo elbow in that side to test, be a cheap option for a bit?

Tempted to remove the existing downpipe and remove the catalytic material and re fit it.

Gives me a chance to see if there is any damage elsewhere also.

Long term though, I really do want to get a decent set of downpipes and test pipes that will marry up with my existing Mongoose back section.

Would even be happy to consider changing the complete system if it meant that I could find the right one.

I don't know if those elbows have a cat in them, they just look like jap down pipe elbows to me that mate up to the 90* cat pipes.

What? That can't be good? You're having one bank with more backpressure then the other then, putting extra load on one side of engine?

LHD cars had the space for both pre-cats. RHD cars had the space for a pre-cat on the n/s but without costly

re-engineering could not be made to fit on the o/s. It was the main reason that with ever tightening emissions

regs combined with low sales volumes that Nissan withdrew the cars from sale in the UK in '94.

So, I have been contemplating buying some divorced test pipes and downpipes. (hopefully that is the right terminology)

These.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391346353365?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

What is everyone's opinion? are there better alternatives available and better suppliers etc'? (preferably in the UK)

Would really like to make the best choice.

Thanks in advance...

Can't personally say on the Topspeed, but if you look in my build thread, there was a link to eBay ones that I was going to buy, However they weren't 2.5", they turned out to be 2.25" and I felt the difference would be negligible, so I bit the bullet and got myself a true 3" system from CZP:thumbup1:

Same as mine I believe. Mine are branded Japspeed but I think they are all the same manufacturer.

How do I measure the pipework? is it the bore you are referring to or the outside diameter?

I currently have Japspeed downpipes, just a little unsure as to the diameter.

It would be nice to use the existing and sell on the new ones.
