Hello all.

I have recently purchased a 300zx I will post pictures and spec soon. I have a problem that I would like advice on first lol..

Last night while at a meet the passenger side coolant pipe to the turbo when pop with a very dramatic smoke screen (steam).

Whats the best place to get a replacment? and whats the easiest way to do it? The access to the area is very bleak. You can see on the image the black hole above the turbo where a pipe should be attached.

Many Thanks in advance.

Mike

What can I saw, Bruised arm, Cut knuckles, and bent tools.. I have had 2 attempts at this now. Easily the single hardest job I have done. Got the pipe on but just cant get the clamps pinched up enough to stop it dripping on the turbo. Can hear it (FIZZ) evaporate on the hot exhaust when it drips.. Going for attempt 3 tonight. I cant see anyway around this other than to struggle and cause pain.

Hi and welcome not had to do mine, but I sure someone will have some good suggestions.

Spring clips I guess? If you can get a screwdriver down there then you could just a jubilee clip.

Originally you have spring clips, these can wear and loose the tension. So switching to a small jubilee is the way forward, you can then do it up with a quarter drive and various UJs or extensions to suit. The metal hard pipes are not unknown to fail, corrosion etc. Where exactly is it leaking?

It's a real pain in the ass job.

OK,, fixed that pipe. hooray.. NOW THE BAD NEWS. I seem to have another leek at the side of the engine above the intake of the turbo. If there any rubber hoses there? IM REALLY WORRIED its the head. HELP

Time for a Update... All is looking good. Took inlet pipes off. Turns out it is cracked coolant pipes all over the shot. I have decided to take of the inlet manifold and replace them all for peace of mind..

Do the water pipe deletes........ while your at it...... gets rid of all hoses under the plenum that can crack and leak....... simplifies the hoses so they are more accessible..... Hope this helps...

and welcome to the forum........

Good shout. Research and perform the plenum water pipe bypass. That will substantially reduce the risk. Will cost a few quid to replace all the small pipes with new rubber.

Ok, so, I have replaced the pipes that needed replacing. I have bypassed the side metal coolant pipes. Now my rad is leaking. You cant right this shit. lol.

So, my next question is.. Whats a good but cheap radiator replacement. looking at £100 tops at the mo?

You have a TT correct? I'm pretty sure someone on here will have a used one.

For second hand, I would try Baz on here or Banzai breakers on ebay. That and put a wanted ad up in the classifieds!

Wise choice with an important component to buy new and an upgrade from the factory rad to boot.

I bought a 56mm core one several years ago and it's money well spent .
