Need some advice from the track guys, looking for a pair of harness for my slicktop, it's getting a half roll cage and recaro seats (evo 4 same as version R seats) what harnesses do people recommend, limited to a 4 point because of the seats, like the look of luke 75mm fia ones, but they are twice the price of others I've seen, now price isn't a major factor, but not going to waste it if it's unnecessary...

Thanks Pete, what do you use out of interest?

I have a compromise ......I have a road friendly buckle like a normal belt. It is a four point harness but at the rear I only have a shared fixing, so effectively a 3 point fixing system.

It is a Luke belt......http://www.corbeau-seats.com/harnesses?product_id=62

Ash, are you having a half cage fitted? If so, who's building it? I'm in the market for one for mine

If the car is mainly used for road use, you will find harnesses a real pain at certain road junctions as it restricts your vision out of the right hand windows. Keep both if possible which is a bit messy but safer when used on the road.

It's a cage I bought off jaffa, was a whole cage, but having it strengthed and modified into a half cage by a local fabricator( builds stock cars)

It's 80% a track car, will probably drive it to and from events I ment.

Holy crap!! you're not wasting any time on this, are you?? Hurry up and get those turbos fitted:biggrin::laugh:

Got a couple of weeks off in August to pull the motor, fit the turbos and injectors,

As an exercise I've decided to fit them to the stock block, it's having a rebuild next year anyway...

Cool, I'll be Back from my hols the first week of August, I'll book the car in for near the end of August so Ash:thumbup:

I thought the block was the issue? I.e yours is toast.

Was talking to Ash last week and apparently it's the turbo's that are causing him all the headaches, he's swapping out the OEM's for 5 bolt GT675's. He got the tech's at his garage to do a proper cylinder leak test and they found it to be extremely healthy:thumbup:

7% on the compression test was the lowest score, so he did his job with those valves aswell, Just need to not melt the heads now :)

It'll be alright as long as the mapper is aware and I'm not getting too carried away with boost.

As Ali said, had our master techs do a proper cylinder leak test on her, all cylinders were 5-7% leak, which they checked twice as they didn't believe it, so my block is alot better then first thought.

Worked out the modifications to the roll cage to get it to fit in the correct location, hopefully my seat brackets turn up tomorrow and I'm all set forth fabricator Monday....

Ah winner! Yeah you will be fine, loads of people running big turbos on stock blocks, just gotta be careful. No amount of forged piston will stop you blowing it up on a crap map or a faulty component.
